Bad choice! They should have kept Idina Menzel. It would have been a very interesting dynamic between her and Rachel.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Kept Idina for what? She said in the finale that she was leaving Vocal Adrenaline.

Idina is still going to appear on the show next season. Just read this quote from the article: "she’s still Rachel’s biological mom. In other words, expect her to make an appearance or two in season 2." She was also confirmed to come back next season in this article:

So what I think is going to happen is that there will be an episode about Shelby getting fired or quiting and being replaced by Cheyenne.

I'm going to venture a guess that SHE couldn't commit to the amount of episodes they wanted? I doubt they would have looked for someone new if they didn't have to.
Did anyone read the comments posted? Someone said Groff and Jackson were an item. Are they maybe confusing him with Gavin? (I know, it's none of our business....but that comment just grabbed me.)

Exactly. Like I predicted Shelby will either quit or get fired as the coach of Vocal Adreline and there will be an episode about her losing her job to Cheyenne.

Idina's character stops coaching Vocal Adrenaline because she wants to raise baby Beth so she can experience what she didn't have with Rachel. They needed to find a replacement and Cheyenne's character will probably lower or raise the original standards of VA and will boost New Direction's confidence or something. lol. They have to start over with Sectionals and all.

Yes, Groff and Gavin have been history for awhile now. As far as I know, Cheyenne has had a partner, not in the business, for a long time now...so don't know where that poster got that idea.

That was basically said in the season finale if I recall correctly. I haven't seen the finale since it aired but I seem to remember her saying that she was done with that life and was ready to start a new one as a mother. I'm pretty sure she did actually quit in the season finale.

@Strummergirl I believe someone said that they were and John Barrowman was rumored to be playing one of them. I, personally, haven't seen anything official. Was an announcement made about that?

This makes me so happy. I haven't heard anything about John Barrowman, but hearing about more Broadway alumni on TV can never disappoint me. Is Cheyenne going to be a semi-regular, or is he going to be considered a guest star every time he's on? I was slightly disappointed when his 30 Rock character was only on every fifth episode.

Nice to see another Broadway veteran join the cast, especially after hearing daily rumours of who the next guest star will be - most of them being pop stars (Justin Timberlake), movie stars (Javier Bardem), desperados (Perez Hilton) etc.
