Yeeeesh. Revolting. I'd start avoiding his movies over this, if I wasn't already avoiding them because they suck.

...but he made a movie where he pulled the plug on a vegetable!
It's a shame because I happen to really like Clint Eastwood's films. A lot.

well, lately his films are basically a serious version of Grumpy Old Men, but he carries a gun.
I'm really looking forward to his new one.
But...but...who cares? I mean...how is this reveal in any way exciting. We've all known for decades that Clint in a Republican. How in God's name does this inspire any kind of excitement?
And he's not exactly the most "energetic" of speakers.

Really? Wow, what a let down.
Can you imagine the outage if the DNC put George Clooney in the second-to-closing spot?
Of course, the list of Bigger Democratic stars would be huge- IF they'd do it. You could easily line up a whole night of liberal Star endorsements for Obama- IF you wanted to:

I love how the GOP always trashes the Democrats for having the "Hollyweird Elite" on their side and yet they choose Clint as a special surprize speaker?
The revelation that it is not Hologram Reagan rends my soul.
I just saw that Michael Douglas will be playing Reagan in a new movie.

Yeah, Eastwood's a longtime Republican, but he's never really been one to appear at this kind of event, has he? And to make an appearance at the Cavalcade of Perversion that this convention has become is a real low -- he's really allying himself with the forces of darkness here.
He's not even a Conservative Icon, really. He's not some hard-core right-winger. He's for gay marriage and death panels.
True Roscoe and Kad, but apparently he's good friends with Romney, so he's either looking the other way, or holding his nose.
It's just a shame the Repubs are getting a star bigger than Bo Derek.
It's ok if they get a big star because they're the do as I say not as I do party.
And the Dems are the "...someone do SOMETHING" party.
Is he going to "Dirty Harry" some sense into them?
His fan base is women and old people (and Jordan.) Who do the GOP seriously need to woo? Women and old people. Stuff like this works because it get's Eastwood's fan base of women and old people (and Jordon)to watch the speech. Once they've got their attention, they can use manipulate facts and outright lies to lure the uninformed in.

If he's not a hard-core Right Winger, he's got no business endorsing Mitt Romney at all, much less appearing at the Cavalcade of Bigotry in Tampa.
F*ck Clint. He's even deader to me now than he was before.
It's not like Clint Eastwood wasn't visible when other Republicans were in the WH or anything. Oh, wait.
He also did a couple of Just Say No PSAs with Nancy Reagan.
He got socially liberal over the years but he openly talked about voting for McCain in 2008, so it was doubtful his opinion of the President ever changed.
Eastwood's fan base is women? Really? Because of that Bridges movie?
Honestly...I kind of feel nothing about this at all. Though it would be kind of hilarious if he decided 'tough love' was the theme of his speech.
His core fan base are a mix of men of a certain age who liked him since Rawhide and younger men who are into the masculinity and violence of his films between the Leone and Dirty Harry period.
