Posted: 8/30/12 at 4:01pmI'm not sure sure. I don't know a single Republican-ish woman (and I know a surprising amount) who would be excited that THIS is the mystery speaker everyone has been on pins and needles about.

Robbie, I'm not talking about Republican women. You don't lure in Republican women. I'm talking about uninformed independent women that they need to lure in to vote for Romney. They probably don't watch either convention. But they hear Eastwood is speaking and they tune in. I agree that informed Republican women will not be thrilled that Eastwood is speaking.

Posted: 8/30/12 at 4:29pmModerate women are not going to tune in just to watch Eastwood. Unless every other station goes black.

It is amazing yesterday he was a cinema lcon but because he says he is a Republican he is scum. Most of those in Hollywood for the GOP. are reluctant to come out for the GOP for fear of their career. At least Clooney is civil and not a gasbag like. Bill M or Moore. Many are screeching harpies who would vote for a loaf of bread it was on the democratic ticket . So much for civility but what else is to be expected when Obama is slinging mud like their is no tomorrow. So much for hope and change. I think all Republicans should be forced to wear a Big R on their chest like the Scarlet letter After that a bit of time on the rack and than the Iron Maiden

Yes...Clint Eastwood, Republican mayor of Carmel twenty five years ago, has stunned us all into irrational thinking.
When I think of the absolute hell his career has been since then, it really makes one take pause.
Oh...wait....nevermind.

The DNC is going to "counter attack" by sponsoring showings of "Paint Your Wagon."
The Romney campaign is calling that offensive and inhumane.

"Many are screeching harpies who would vote for a loaf of bread it was on the democratic ticket."
And yet, the Republicans ARE voting for a loaf of bread because it's on their ticket.

Posted: 8/30/12 at 5:27pmIt's typical of the GOP to look town 80 year old icon. So backward thinking. Why didn't they use Kirk Cameron? Dennis Miller even.

^ Because they're not about the future. They're about the past.
"America's past" with white picket fences and white snow at Christmas and white teeth smiling and white people as neighbors.
A "white" past that never was.
So who better to stand in front of them as a keynote speaker than a grinning dinosaur from the bygone silver screen of Hollywoodland?

Exactly, Besty.
They want the "My Blue Heaven" of the past, and for everyone to forget that the heaven was actually white and male.

I want to leave my behind in the past.

That's interesting, where are the Dennis Millers and Victoria Jacksons, all those high-powered talented entertainment people who are all Republican all over the place? You'd think that Kirk Cameron and Robert Duvall would just jump at the chance to really cement their status as proud members of the GOP, to loudly and publicly proclaim their support for Mitt Romney.
Kelsey Grammer? Anyone? Patricia Heaton and Jim Caviezel?

Did anybody see Dennis Miller's tweets about Sandra Fluke today? Vile. Not even linking it.

Dennis Miller has to overcompensate for his lack of endowment.

Roxy's adorable thinking nobody knew Clint Eastwood was a reactionary Republican until his shocking coming out appearance tonight!
It does make me wonder why Clint made that pro-Detroit, America at half-time, America back to work, commercial and that got up tonight shilling for the guy who said to let Detroit die. I would like to know which thing he didn't really mean.
PS "Have at me now. I have no intention of reading your clear thinking replies

Roxy lies through his dentures. He says this all the time and then accidentally forgets he said it when he references something in the posts he "doesn't read."

What does everyone in the audience cheering Clint on think about him supporting marriage equality? Also, how many of these people were against Clint when MILLION DOLLAR BABY came out? I seem to recall Bill Donahue saying some horrible things about Clint.
I'll bet anyone $10,000 Roxy was one who was against Clint then. They love to rewrite history and make up their own facts.I think if anything Clint is a moderate Republican and if someone from the Tea Party talked to Clint for about 10 minutes they would accuse him of being a RINO (Republican in name only)and ask him why he hates America. Clint is the type of Republican the Tea Party hates. One who is not an extremist and can be rational.
Yet another example of Republican hypocrisy.
