Sounds like your mother and mine need to hang out, G. She used to set me up on blind dates, buy me porn and sex toys, and when I came out to her, she said "...and remember, honey, they really like it when you lick their balls. But...no teeth. Ever."

I don't suppose your mother is *also* a young, ex-trampy, 70s-stoner/pornstar-like fag hag, is she? :)

My mom after I came out:

"We [My dad and she] thought about it, and we don't think it is best to disown you."

And that was a GOOD reaction.

Be glad for a mom who buys you stuff. Just keep telling us the stories, cause they're damn funny.

I feel really bad for anyone who isn't loved and supported by their parents.

Life is tough enough without that crap.

Not everyone is as lucky as you, b12. But you have different family struggles.

I confess that I'm overreacting to something posted on another thread, by someone no one would expect could upset me.

I know I'm lucky, Rath, all family struggles aside.

But rather than gloat or "feel special" about my supportive folks, it really makes me ANGRY when I hear anyone else is deprived of it. I get very upset (even agressively so!) at the parents of the world who don't realize what they're doing to their kids.

Who's upsetting you? And why? 'Fess up!

On a good note, my parents (while still not supportive) have come around quite a bit, and I only anticipate that their loving nature combined with more education will soon lead them to grasp some sort of understanding.

At least they're trying to understand, and it sounds like you're trying to understand them, as well. All very good.

Give them time and patience... which it sounds like you're already doing.

I'd share my parents with all of you if I could...they might be slightly batty, but they're the most wonderful set of folks I reckon any boy could have.

I'm lucky, b12b, that my mother will always be supportive, no matter what I do. I know that.

My father, however, is another story.

He doesn't like sons, and he's a homophobe. I can see our relationship is only going to improve...

Here's how my parents found out....

There was a guy who I was seeing and he was over, and convinced my parents we were just friends. So one night my mom was just like "Wow! You know what i never thought? Why dont you date Gino's sister, Christina? Youre good looking and I would love you as a son in law."

Without skipping a beat, and before I could cover his mouth, he was just like "But Im gay and me and your SON are seeing eachother." He thought this was funny but my house has never been soo silent in my entire life. lol
