THE CONTESTANTS
Aigoo
·1 Jeanie, more commonly known as Aigoo, can be described as a quiet individual whom enjoys soft walks along the cliffs of death, serene sailboating in stormy seas, and fishing peacefully for large-sized sharks. She's got big dreams that her head can't fit (so some of it leaks out sometimes and they sort of get lost in the mess of educational information that leaks out, too) and her latest well-known work is the BWW FAQ.
A trapped starving actress in a violinpianoguitarist's body, Jeanie has only known Broadway as theatre Mecca for about a year in contrast to previously knowing it as a really long street. She refuses to give out her age because she wishes to be any age that she likes. But asks that you keep in mind the minimal amount of training she's had.
Jeanie would like to thank her friends for dealing with her random shouted obscenities and her family for always being there and supporting her.
Allie
o At the age of 19, Allie has already played a soda emporium owner from Varkansas, Arkansas who wore hair rollers to work and stole a baby from a bus-stop, raising him as her own (Ma Vark – White Bucks and Saddle Shoes), and an ‘elegant’ millineress who found love with a chief clerk from Yonkers (Mrs. Molloy, Hello, Dolly!). Both of these roles had her playing business owners. A coincidence? Perhaps not.
For the past three years, Allie has been on the run from the authorities in her home province of Nova Scotia for accepting the challenge of a duel (which is illegal in Canada). The roles she has played onstage have given more than enough entrepreneurial experience to open up her home as a “day-care centre” (read: underground sweat shop). She is currently a well-dressed outlaw whose whereabouts are unknown (so keep it on the down low, would ya?). Allie is elated to not be making her internet debut in some celebrity’s porn video, but in BWW Idol.
broadway86
o Rob (aka broadway86) has been singing since he was a kid, and is thrilled to be a part of BWW Idol. Rob is currently an acting major in NY, as well as aspiring jazz vocalist, film critic (he writes for the college newspaper), and stage director. In the past, Rob has performed in such plays as "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" (George), "Our Town" (Dr. Gibbs), "Antigone" (Creon), "Fool for Love" (Eddie), "Death of a Salesman" (Biff Loman), "The Glass Menagerie" (Jim O'Connor), and many more. Enjoy, and good luck to the other contestants!
Bound4Bway88
o B4B88 is excited to be playing in bww idol! He hopes to one day move to nyc and become a broadway star...he'll even take an ensemble role! he just loves to perform! Good luck to everyone else!
camerangel
o Camerangel isn't your typical Valley girl - unless you mean Napa Valley. Stuck in a dead-end job far from the cultural havens of New York, Los Angeles and Omaha, Cam's always been confident in her voice - especially when accompanied by a running shower or a 16-wheeler. Her theatrical interests include Rent, Rent, Rent and Rent, but she's got a variety of musical loves - she likes Tick, Tick…Boom!, too. She's flown across the country several times to see the Rent tour and Broadway casts and is currently hiding in a small Northern California town to avoid arrest for stalking certain tour actors. She is set to continue her reign of terror on a new and unsuspecting tour cast in the next few weeks. Until then she bides her time like any sane person, by making voodoo dolls of her boss and adding to her Roger Wig made up entirely of hair from of current and former Rogers (all involuntary hair donors). Not one to appeal for votes, she unabashedly expects the Adam Pascal Love and Mojitos threads to pick her unconditionally. She'll also put out, if necessary. Did she mention she's a 36DD? PM her if you need proof.
Cruel_sandwich
o Cruel_Sandwich was not "born" as you humans call it. Rather, he was forged. Forged in volcanic fires by an apprentice to a blacksmith in the year 496 AD. Upon first viewing of his creation, the apprentice thusly and swiftly ended his life, for he had truly offered up his most supreme creation, and had no more to give.
Soon afterwards, Cruel_Sandwich was shackled into a cage and driven deep into the earth by the apprentice's father, who not only wanted justice for his son's death, but also to shield humanity from something this awesome....and possibly dangerous.
He should have killed him...
Once underground, Cruel_Sandwich discovered that he had teeth. And he used them to bite through his shackles and through his cage. He spent the next several millenia biting up through the soil, finally emerging in the year 1987. Upon his emergence, he realized that he still posessed the ability to destroy a civilization five times in half a second with the cuticle on his right pinky. All of those years of being beaten, shackled, buried, eating the earth, while the image of his creator's suicide burned in his skull had turned him into a bitter shell of whatever he once was. Now determined to strike back at the world that had spawned...then shunned...him, he became the violent, bonecrushing creature he is today. Using his incredible powers for evil because humanity doesn't deserve it the other way around, he wanders the globe blithely destroying all in his way.
And in his spare time, he sings.
Dramadork925
o DramaDork925, better known as Emily, has been performing in the cutthroat children's theatre circuit in MA but dreams of someday being in shows where teaching kids how to read is not a part of the rehearsal process. This would ideally mean Broadway, of course. Emily's biggest "claim to fame" thus far was a callback for Tracey in the National Tour of Hairspray. Alas, she was only 15 at the time so they never got back in touch. Emily has been seen in "Wicked" as Elphaba, "Hairspray" as Tracey, "Avenue Q" as Kate Monster and "Chicago" as Roxie. She costarred with her best friend. Her mother was quoted as saying "You kids should take this show on the road." PS: Be merciful! She's only 16!
Ebonic_Singer
o Ebonic_Singer is happy to be participating in the first annual BWW idol in between his stint as Elphabalous in Wicked and taking over for Hugh Jackman in The Boy From Oz (for which he was critically acclaimed)--both of these productions were in his shower, where he feels he does his greatest performances. In all seriousness, he recently sang the national anthem at Madison Square Garden and recently finished a production of Godspell, where he was the token Jew playing Jesus (after all, he was Jewish, no?). He enjoys eating, sleeping, and talking in third person. He hopes you enjoy his performances and wants to publicly apologize to Idina for rigging her trap door--he didn't know it would be such a big deal!
JACXR71
o Feel free to make fun of JACXR71 all you want for clinging to anonymity. He doesn’t really know why, either - it’s not like he’s a superhero…despite the abundance of tight clothing in his closet. Plus, anyone could figure it out if they read his posts carefully enough. Luckily for him, no one usually does. His attempts to quell his pipe dreams of achieving Broadway stardom by double-majoring at a top-tier university have proved futile, as he spends more time on the BWW boards than he does on his thesis. JACXR71 is thrilled to be a part of BWW Idol, and even more thrilled that his bio was exactly 100 words…until he felt it necessary to point it out.
jrb_actor
o John recently made his NYC cabaret debut with Jerby: Fully Loaded, which Tony winner, Cherry Jones, raved as, "Foul-mouthed, indecent, immoral, and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS"! John’s credits include the infamous World Premiere of What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? at Theatre Under The Stars as well as Funny Girl, Grand Hotel (also at Seattle’s 5th Avenue), and Zorro the Musical. John swings both ways, actorwise, and has been seen at the Alley Theatre as Christy in The Devil’s Disciple and A Flea in Her Ear as well as one of those naughty Catholic schoolboys in Stages Repertory Theatre's Shakespeare's R&J.
Kitzarina
o Kitzarina is a vivacious young miss of good American breeding stock. As witty as she is bitchy, and as opinionated as she is beautiful. In many ways, a true diva.
Kitzy can currently be seen in her school's production of HONK! in the somewhat unflattering role of Lowbutt. Although she keeps getting cast in character roles, Kitzy dreams of the day she will be allowed to play the ingenue she is inside and belt her heart out.
And I promise, that if nominated BWW Idol, I will take all the Wicked fanbois/gurls and RENTheads and introduce them to the wonder that is Stephen Sondheim. It'll certainly do more good for society than giving everyone a puppy.
Link Larkin Wanabe
o "Little Kown Facts About Akiva (alias: Link Larkin Wanabe):
- Found by nomadic elves in the deserts outside Jerusalem, Israel, Akiva was saved by a nice family and raised as their own. Their wanderings took him to the heart of the Canadian Rockies via some hippie university town in California. There he somehow strayed from his parent's academic ways and became involved in some shady dealings, the biggest of which being a new invention called "Art".
-He dabbled in Animation for a while, until finding his true calling in the Theater (or as it is spelled in Canada, Theatre). Although he loves directing, writing, composing, acting, singing, etc. his main focus is Set Design, which is what he moved across the country on his own for to study.
-He does, however, pay the rent by acting in musicals in the summer. He hopes to one day finally finish one of the many musicals he is writing and have it produced. His favourite roles include: Seymour (Little Shop), Rusty Charlie (Guys and Dolls), Tommy Keeler (Annie Get Your Gun), and his most famous turn as Motel (Fiddler on da' Roof), for which he is still stalked by fans on the transit system. Seriously.
-He’s very Jewish…we are talking VERY Jewish.
-Once he turns 21 in a few short months he will be an unstoppable force of binge drinking, porn, prostitution and drugs...his drug of choice being a little musical called Hairspray.
- His best friend is his eyebrow barbell, who is known by everyone as Herbert.
-In his past life he was a French nun and a Chihuahua…though sadly not both at the same time."
Marlene
o Marlene is a smart mouthed teenager from a borough of NYC that no one gives a *bleep* about. She's enthusiastic and has a lot of heart. She can't really sing and has a crap ass attitude. She can be found pole dancing on the E train on Tuesdays and occasionally Thursday afternoons, on her way to a law firm near you. Marlene is currently rehearsing for her run of improvised a capella musicals of the day with her ghetto theater troupe. They can be seen during evenings on Madison Avenue. Performances are held on the sidewalk, but the actors leave when the cars come and pick them up. Marlene is convinced that BWW Idol will further her future endeavors and convince her evil director that she can totally rip apart a real Shakesperian role.
Mina
o While she is not out on romantic midnight dates with vampires, Mina enjoys studying opera. She is very excited to be a part of BWW Idol. Love to all!
Musical_nerd
o Musical_nerd, or Mary, as her new signature says, is a goody two shoes 13-year-old teenager from Western Mass. She?s been in lots of shows, but she won?t mention them because she?s always in the ensemble. Very few people ever appreciate the ensemble in Community Theater. They?re also known as the people who payed to be in the group, but cannot sing. While writing this bio, Mary has spilled juice all over her lap. She hopes it will dry before she has to catch the bus.
My Fair Lady
o Bernie hails from Long Island, New York. She's happy to be participating in BWW Idol and feeling like she actually has a life outside of school and community service. She's 14 years old and goes to a Jewish private school, where she has already made a name for herself as a singer. Her most recent performance was as Miss Jones in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. She is known as MFL on the boards and her singing idol is Laura Benanti.
Noloversfool
Nyk
o Nyk is not just your average slut chorus boy from Peoria, he also happens to be a ballerina.. Yes, you can call him twinkle toes. Beauty school? Only losers go to beauty school and drop out. If you want to be anyone in this business, you need to go to AMDA and drop out.. That's what ensures you will earn the big bucks! So that's just what Nyk did. He just fled New York City to pay outrageously high rent to his parents for a smaller room than he had when he left home and to star in a regional production of Aida. Yes that's right they loved him so much they couldn't cast him in merely one role, they put him in several like Museum Curator/Soldier/Minister/Nubian Dancer. You read correctly ladies and gentleman, he's a very white boy from the mid-west playing a black boy. Cuz he's just that good! You may ask yourself what kind of name is Nyk, well it was either that or Knyck, and Knyck was just too damned Kcanadian, and he felt he couldn't live up to such a high standard. We now know differently. Nyk prides himself on his slut chorus boy reputation and his many casting couch adventures.. His milkshake brings ALL the boys to the yard.. He's is currently single and accepting applications for his next conquest.. He has specifically asked for Jaily, Bwaysinger and Doxy to submit their resumes. Please contact Cammy his "handler" for your submissions.
Paradox_Error
o From the international corner of BWW, comes the young Paradox_Error, the board's cutest Gay Australian in Poland. At only 19, Doxy doesn't expect to hold it up to the likes of Rath (he couldn't if he tried *wink*), but he's out for the sheer enjoyment of it, and well...he's always happiest when he's giving pleasure to others...with his voice. Support Doxy, BWW's cuddliest poster. Trust me, you *will* be rewarded.
Rathnait62
o Rath spent her childhood convinced she was going to be a Broadway musical star. Her quest for fame was so successful that she now lives in Yonkers. After years of singing around the kitchen while she picked the lentils out of the fireplace for her wicked stepmother, a beautiful Fairy Godmother finally appeared and begged her to shut the f... up.
She realizes with solemnity that BWW Idol will make or break her. Or not.
Spiderdj82
o Spiderdj82 A*K*A* Spider A*K*A* Spidey A*K*A* DJ A*K*A* Big Sexy has always dreamed of seeing his name in lights in Time Square. In College, he played the covenant role of Cowboy #1 in his college's production of OKLAHOMA! and Gremio in TAMING OF THE SHREW. Once out out college, Spider started refining his dancing and acting skills by entering the highly competitive world of male stripping and backyard porn. He wants to thank all of his bitches and hos for all of their prayers and encouraging words. He also wants to give a special shout out to his baby mama--Catherine Zeta Jones. Papi is doing his thang, Zeta. Papi is doing his thang.
theatrebabe
o Theatrebabe is a young, Broadway-starved child from the mid-west who loves musical theatre. Her experience so far has only been community wide, but she is not discouraged. One of theatrebabe's dreams is to make it to New York and star on Broadway. Unoriginal, I know. Because of this dream, years from now, you will probably be able to find theatrebabe in a tiny appartment in New York with five other actors living off bugs that crawl up through the floor. Her poor parents. Theatrebabe hopes that you will enjoy her performance in BWW Idol. Be kind in judging her and remember that she is only 14. Thank you!
TheatreDiva612
o Theatrediva612 dwells in *insert Piazza music* "Winstoooonn Saaaaalem", NC masquerading as a debutante and a southern belle. However don't let that charm fool you, she is the CEO and founder of the official Clay Aiken Stalkers Union (CASU). You can often find her hiding in the bushes outside his childhood home in Raleigh gathering "Karma" from it. Hoping it would one day help bring her dreams to fruition and she would be a renowned vocalist, opera singer, popstar and broadway performer. She feels a very special bond with Clay, being that they both love, flatirons, music and men. With a strong belief that she was destined to be an American Idol she took it as a sign when Fantasia emerged from her hometown of High Point. She is now a high school senior studying voice at the North Carolina School of the Arts. With such talent spawned from NC, how can she not succeed? Look for her on the first ever BWW idol and decide for yourself.
timote316
o Timote began singing to join a school trip… odd reason to begin, he knows. Three years, four musicals and one major obsession later, he is proud to be a part of BWW Idol (or, embarrassed… he’s not quite sure). Timote is not quite sure why he chose that for his name, but he was told that’s his first name in Spanish, or something like that. His favorite performers include Kristin Chenoweth, Adam Pascal and Raul Esparza. He would like to wish the best of luck to those who will finish better than him, i.e. everyone!
DISQUALIFIED WannaBeCallas
o WBC always knew she wanted to be an actress or a musician. But it wasn't until she saw RENT on Broadway that she was set in the right path. Wanting to learn everything she could about RENT, she discovered the opera La Boheme. Wanting to one day be in La Boheme, she decided to study the beautiful art of opera. Although she has never appeared in an opera, she has appeared as Grace Farrell in Annie, Sally in Cabaret, and, a personal favorite, Lola in Damn Yankees.
WesternSky2
o WesternSky2, known to those who dare enter the Greg Jbara Love Thread as Kerrie, hails from Cape Coral, Florida. This brave 18 year old college freshman recently made the move to the big apple to pursue a BFA in Musical Theater at Pace University. She's proud to say she has been in shows such as Sweeney Todd, The Light in the Piazza, and will be seen in the highly anticipated upcoming Broadway show The Wedding Singer (in the audience).

Sing those Broadway (and non-Broadway) love songs! Or if you – like Tiffany – are sick of Valentine’s Day, sing those anti-love anthems or empowering single-hood songs! Torch songs are encouraged – Definition (from Wikipedia) - A torch song is a sentimental love song, typically one in which the singer laments an unrequited love.
The etymology comes from "Carrying a torch for him/her"; which means to long for a lost lover. A possible origin is that the singer (torch singers are almost exclusively female) sang in a sultry, jazz way to bring out the sensual tones of the voice, thus resembling a smoldering torch…although most torch singers use the piece to display their vocal range rather than the sensuality of the voice.

and where is our flock??
Not part of your flock, but I'm flitting around for a lil bit.
Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch.
Puppies are babies in fur coats.
Tinfoil...The Terrorizing Terminator
Are we allowed to comment now?
Comment away.
The Flock is arriving.
I suppose it would do no one any good to do "Things Have Changed"
I would love to hear someone stretch and tackle Dylan.
It's not letting me update the first post!
*click click click click clickclickclickclick*
Huzzah for the new thread! I'm here and ready to partay!
I think Cam and I should give some thank-you presents to TheatreBabe's thread for letting us use it last night. (My mama raised me right!)
Thank God it's all cyber - like my po' ass could afford to really dish out!
Nice new thread. Glad it turned out the way you like.
I'm slow-did we ever find out who was voted out this week?
KERRIE MADE IT!
WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!
Well, my work here is done. All the evil is gone.
('Cept me)
Jesus, you are slow. That's, like, so old news! *snaps gum* How, like, yesterday. Allie was voted out and Kerrie's safe.
(And now that we're on a fresh thread, still on page 1, there's no reason for anyone - that means you, contestants - to have trouble referring to the updates in post #1!)
Well, aren't you a little how di doo-I happened to have had something TO DO yesterday-out of town, blimp!
Whoa now, Janelephant, you went to Jersey. Not Timbuktu!
I also had things to see, people to do.
"Hand" and "Coke bottle" do not equal "people".
No "kidding"
And "dogs" don't equal "food"
See, and I can't even make any Jewish jokes or half the board would pounce on me, when I'm really only picking on you.
What the hell happened while I was away? How was Kerrie even close to being eliminated?
Oh wait, maybe I should listen to the clips before making a statement like that. Be right back.
The link to the old thread is in the first post here.
And in my totally biased opinion, while this wasn't her best performance, she still didn't deserve to go.
Tiff.. You? Biased?? ALWAYS!!!
Why the hell am I so busy at work today?
Mmm...made myself a deeeelish lunch! After two days of popping Rolaids (eating my concoction on the COOTTs thread), I used the rest of the pasta and made a light garlic butter sauce with chopped Italian sausage and ham. I'm a happy gal. *woozy smile*
Sucks about work - earn that money, woman! Earn that money!
I had ramen for lunch..
No kidding on that earn the money comment.. My sister gave me crap today cuz I cant go to her graduation.. I have shows that weekend and I cant make the 12 hour round trip trek to where shes at.. Oh well.. I'd rather make the money anyway..
