Her deal is much more interesting and more lucrative than the winners. Jive records and more freedom from the AI. But you see... no difference in who won.

Both of them look like they need to be hosed down with some kind of disinfectant.
That's why I think she should change her name to Crystal Sourbox.
with her, no difference whatsoever. kinda like when Clay went with Clive Davis, although it didn't last like it will with Crystal.
i wonder if Ellen will get anyone from the series for her new record company eleven eleven. i just think her running a label is a bit much.

Congrats to Crystal! I do hope that she gets some dental reconstruction!

19 and Jive are arms of the same corporate parent (RCA). I'm curious why you think her deal is "more interesting and more lucrative" than DeWyze's. I have no particular info but I would imagine they are all but identical.
From what I have heard of the final 6 or so, I would buy her music and Michael Lynche's. He has a bit of a Luther vibe to him.
Because her deal comes with Clive Davis and she is not tied to the AI franchise after the summer tour.

Davis is the head of Columbia- parent company of both J and 19.
Sorry. Meant to include this link. Davis has more of a hand with Jive and will be hands on with her. Just watched it on Sam rubin KTLA morning news.

Can't wait to see what he does with her.
According to KTLA she came out with a more lucrative contract because she is not under the AI winner restrictions. And the clip they showed with Clive Davis was in reference to him handling her.. not Lee. There is no on line link yet. But I suspect they will have it in their web site later.
I thought Clive Davis was involved with all the Idol winners?
I am not sure. But I think that stopped being the norm about two years ago.

I am a big fan of Jive- they handled the Backstreet Boys- and of course the best Idol contestant ever David Archuleta!
Was Archuleta dropped?
that was a huge deal when he signed Clay Aiken too.
in early years Simon Cowell tried to make it clear that Pop Idol an AI were a "winner's competition" he would chime "there is only ONE WINNER" there is not only one winner an he cannot control anyone who wants to sign any of the artists.
they are all contracted with Idol until after the tour though, yes?
Jersey Girl - only ones he chooses I believe. i only know of Clay and Crystal...but maybe there was one out of the "diva's" the year Fantasia won.
Clive personally signed Chris Daughtry. I saw an interview where Chris said a few days after he was eliminated from the show, he went to Clive's office with his guitar and played him a few of his originals (Breakdown, Home and I think Gone) and Clive said he could do his own record his way.

Whatever happened the that Daughtry fellow? I thought he was OK despite what everyone says about him. I could see him in Grease or maybe Memphis if he needed a job.
LOL Joe! Are you trying to make Stockard's head explode?
Clive worked with Kelly Clarkson, didn't he? Was that after her AI contracts were up?
LOL, Joe! He's only had 2 more than platinum selling albums. That's all.
DAME, I don't think Archuletta was dropped. I saw him somewhere a few weeks ago and he said he was working on a new CD. I read that he has a second pop cd coming out. he did a Christmas CD that was produced by Jive. His website says he has been meeting with a lot of writers for sessions.

He has been working on an autobiography and touring overseas. I think they are planning a new album around the end of the year.
And I think that Daughtry story is a little off- I heard he was playing his guitar outside the RCA offices trying to earn bus fare back home after getting bounced off idol and Clive Davis said he'd pay him $50 to move across town to the Universal Offices.
