15 Republicans voted yes, to repeal it.
15 Democrats voted no...[EXPLETIVES DELETED]
House Approves 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Repeal Bill 250-175

But doesn't it always pass the house? Isn't it the senate where it will go to die?
Yes Phyl, the senate will never vote to repeal it.
We can hope... It's the season of Miracles.
Yeah, I'm choosing not to get excited about this so I'm not too diappointed by the Senate right before Christmas.
This is a very important benchmark. Harry Reid couild keep the Senate beyond their usual holiday break, and having their exact wording passed in the House is important. If Pelosi hadn't gotten this done, there would have been no point in Reid keeping the Senate around.

DADT will never stop bouncing.
When will we know this time?

I'm in a bit of shock - our republican rep was one of the 15. I NEVER would have guessed that!
Those republicans need to have an Edible Arrangements basket sent to them ASAP.

Those poor senators, having to work the week before Christmas.
Edible Arrangements are very deceptive. The fruit ones, anyway. You get one at the office and it's all nice and pretty. After a couple of hours, it's all turning brown and smells like Glade developed a scent entitled "Wrigley Field Toilet Stall".
I'd be okay with sending that to Republicans.

Republicans are already accusing Reid of anti-Christian bias forcing them to work so close to Christmas. Of course they worked later to impeach Clinton, but I suppose that was important.

Do Republicans not realize that most Americans don't get a month off at Christmas time?

It's sickening that you're not joking.

Seriously, though, don't they know that most people consider themselves lucky if their offices close early on Christmas Eve?

Reid to Republicans:
Quit whining about working this holiday!
Looks like Dollypop's favorite senator, Scott "Cosmo" Brown, is the 61st vote.

Rachel Maddow is reporting that the Senate will vote on the stand alone DADT repeal on Saturday.
I don't trust the Senate as far as I can spit.
You can watch the Senate debating it right now, right here:
Lindsay Graham, the closeted Senator from Georgia is having a hissy-fit because Harry Reid won't let anyone add any amendments.
How many S's in "It's not appreciated"?

I tried to listen a couple of times, and just had to turn it off. I have no patience left for the rhetorical nonsense.
It is one week to Christmas. Who cares???? Can't you focus your energies on something else besides DADT? If you are gay and in the services, quit! Why stay where you are not appreciated?
DADT filibuster failed in the Senate. A vote can take place in 30 hours. I feel dirty thanking Joe Lieberman for anything, but thank you Joe Lieberman for getting the repeal of DADT up for a stand-alone vote.

It's called multi-tasking, dear. Some of us are able to focus on more than one thing at a time. Just because you can't doesn't mean that holds true for everyone.
And from the look of things...DADT will soon be something we won't have to focus on at all!
