See, I feel if this person wanted to kill this many people he would have found a way, Guns, crossbows, explosives, poisonous gases, etc.. I am not sure Guns were the probelm although perhaps an easy means to a end. Look at what the terrorists of 9/11 accomplished with a few knives and palnes filled with fuel.

Also, there were gun-totin' citizens at the Gabrielle Giffords shooting and nobody pulled their guns out. It's easy for people to imagine a rootin'-tootin' wild west shoot-out where'n the bad guys get shot by well-armed citizenry but it just doesn't happen. Even though this country's built on such myths.

But it shows you what a true believer Dobbs is in the mythology. I wonder if he carries a gun and if so, I'd be surprised if it weren't like Nancy Reagan's pearl handled revolver.

People have been killing other people for millennia and almost certainly always will. It's simply a matter of methodology and degree w a certain emotionally salacious interest in the aftermath.
If it wasn't guns, then explosives, or poisoning wells or anthrax in the mails. Civilizations veneer is pretty thin. And yet, the world goes round. Well, at least until it doesn't.

I completely understand why they are doing this and I commend them for it...

However, as beautywicked pointed out, they WILL release them on Monday. Out of respect for people who are supporting the film out of respect for those who didn't get to see how it ends.

On another note, the NYTimes reports that the guy's apartment is so booby trapped they can't figure out a way to get in. And they reported this unnerving piece of the puzzle:



As for the apartment itself, The Denver Post had more details from neighbors, who reported that they heard loud techno music begin blaring from the apartment around midnight, shortly before the shootings occurred. The neighbors said that the music seemed to be on some sort of a timer since it stopped around 1 a.m. Kaitlyn Fonzi, a 20-year-old biology student at University of Colorado Denver, lives in an apartment below Holmes.

Around midnight, Fonzi said she heard techno music blasting from Holmes apartment. She went upstairs and knocked on the door. When no one answered, she put her hand on the door knob and realized the door was unlocked.

Fonzi decided not to go inside the apartment.

The music turned off at almost exactly 1 a.m., Fonzi said.

It's a really good thing she made that decision not to open the door.

I have to say that the photo of the gunman is so creepy. Those eyes are evil. I have to turn the page or the channel when it is shown.

That's a brilliant argument against gun control. Why even have laws against murder? Even Chimps do it so why bother trying to discourage it?
The "everything would be better if everyone was armed" argument drives me crazy. I wonder if Lou Dobbs would have gotten a shot off in a dark theater filled with tear gas at a man covered in body armour with an automatic rifle.
Holmes LEGALLY bought enough guns and ammo in a few weeks to take on a small army. Because there's absolutely no kind of gun regulation in this country that didn't even raise a red flag.
And thank god WB is releasing the box office receipts Monday. Nothing must interfere with consumption! It's the American way!

Don't forget the tear gas bombs. He bought those legally too. And the 6,000 rounds of ammo.
There have been over 20 mass shootings in the United States since Columbine. I think we should try to prevent another. Even though chimps kill each other in the wild.
