I thought Tim walz gave a rousing speech, it had broad appeal. It was pretty progressive but mainstream at the same time. I think it showcased the best the democratic party has to offer, Harris hit a home run by choosing him. Oprah gave a great energetic speech too. Shapiro, Buttigeg did a nice job as well.
Oprah was once an ordinary person, with troubles the same as anybody else... but not anymore. I kinda agree with you SF, to me she reeks of privilege. Still, she does have a large fanbase, and if she can get some swing voters to do the right thing then it was worth having her there.
Doug Emhoff was good, but I personally still find it odd to be putting the candidate's spouse up on stage to speak. Kamala is basically doing a job interview, and any other job it would be weird and totally unneccesary to have her husband speak on her behalf. Why is politics any different? I hope having a man as First Spouse will make the whole pretty hostess role go away, but seems not.
I'm sure if she wanted it to happen it would happen but god I really wish Michelle Obama was running for president right now. She just has that magic X factor you can't really find easily including and especially in Kamala Harris.

"Especially "??? Harris is a very charismatic and attractive woman. I'm not saying she's the equal of Michelle, but she ain't Al Gore, ffs.
Expect to see people tonight wearing white in memory and honor of Woman Suffrage.
My grandmother was in her early 30's before she was legally permitted to vote. And vote she did, for the remainder of her life. She would be so happy and proud to see the progress women have made, slow as it may have been, from the day she first entered a voting booth until this evening when Kamala Harris speaks to the world as a woman of color candidate for the Presidency of the United States..
Obviously those people are desperate for attention just like anybody else who says the opposite of what is PC. I just ignore them. Their time in the sun is coming to an end because Americans aren’t doing it anymore with them.
i wouldnt want Michelle to run for president. Nobody in this new crop of leaders does it for me. Shapiro, Wes Moore, Buttigeg, Ocasio-Cortez, Gavin Newsom, Cory Booker. I actually think I like Hakeem Jeffries the best out of all of them.
Words almost fail. Disgusting. Shameful. Cruel. Vile. Beneath contempt.
Last night, this young man showed the world what the word "Love" truly means. I, and I think many others, would be proud to call Gus Walz "Son".
And the filthy MAGA thugs showed the world what the word "Hate" truly means.
FORWARD with Kamala and Tim !!

Is that something that male candidates are judged by?"
Kennedy beat Nixon on charm and image at least as much as policy. That’s why Nixon was sure to add dry wit and a less overtly humorous affect to his public image moving forward, so as not to be seen as a weird old man. The four words that put him in the White House: “Sock it… to me?”

So sad, people in here who want to hold up Dump. The last person who I talked to was a Dump supporter. When she mentioned how trans was an abomination against gawd, I told my sister so you're a moron and a bigot. The borders have been drawn, if you support Dump you are a moron and a bigot,

What is sad here is that several of you people, capable of creating an account on a website, and capable of reading and writing, and capable of strong convictions on important matters, are impervious to reason, context and nuance - and incapable of simple decency. Unless, of course, people agree with you on every little thing.

Again - this could be Trump himself you are talking about, Pauly. If you overlook these flaws in him, why not us too?

PAULY, only one of the two contenders fit that description. This is who you will be voting for. Anybody with a semblance of reason will go for the other one. Even for conservatives such as yourself, surely if would be better to vote strategically. Vote for Kamala, wait out the four years, and then support a sane and responsible Republican in 2028. One that will not endanger the very foundations of America. Sadly, I wonder if such a person exists anymore. Probably not. Such is the legacy of MAGA. Honor no longer required.

Jay, I will try to summarize briefly - and add some brief clarity to what I have stated in the past so you might grasp the actual argument:
With the above now clarified, do you now still not see the absurdity in asking why I give Trump slack on his character flaws but not you?
*Note that my comments about what is sad here was more directed at Sutton Ross, South Florida and Highland Guy. They are on a different level of sad.
