Glad for Scorsese, not for Departed. What an unimpressionable film. I was happy to see The Lives of Others take home the award though for foreign over Pan's Labrinth. Dreamgirls cancelled itself out and yay for Mirren and Hudson AND Whitaker.

isn't 49 UP a tv documentary, was it even eligible? and/or didn't it come out last year?

I can't believe that SHUT UP AND SING didn't get a docu nom myself, but for some reason I didn't think 49 UP was even an eligible docu.

Munk, I also thought of you whenever thay showed those quotes. I also think it's cool that you take Oscar so seriously.

The show was very smooth. There weren't any screw-ups that i recall. (which made it a little less fun)

Those dancers were amazing. How did they do that?

And lastly, a question: why did they switch up the order of the awards? Don't they usually give out supporting awards early on. They really front loaded the show with the technical awards this year.

....but the world goes 'round

"Those dancers were amazing. How did they do that? "

I know that was great.

The Anne Hathaway-Emily Blunt thing was pretty funny.
Ellen was great: Myspace picture w/ Clint.& vaccuming the carpet and GoodMamas. re: Dare I Say It?

Queen Latifah and John Travolta's little Hairspray mention was great and hearing You Can't Stop The Beat as their entrance. Great.

Great for Jennifer Hudson, Happy Feet, Little Miss Sunshine, Dreamgirls. And good for United 93 for atleast being nominated. re: Dare I Say It?

I thought those dancers were really neat....especially when they formed the gun and then shot the "bullet".

Much better than the Prince quasi-phallic guitar nonsense at the Super Bowl.

I enjoyed the show as well--loved the Jack Black/Reilly/Ferrell number, though it was hardly necessary. I also enjoyed Pilobolus, though again, do we need it?

I didn't care for the Celine song, but it wasn't bad. Loved the Prada girls' banter too...

I did think the Gore-fest was a bit much, but it was a night for Al and Marty!

Thought Ellen did a great job...

I had a good time overall--yes, it could have easily been 1 hour shorter, but isn't that always the case?
