Was there anything more beautiful than this guy?
(Didn't age well at all, though....oh well.)

One of my fave films of all time. Still an enigma.

I loved him in 'Eye of the Devil',even though he had a very small part.
oh, thanks for the heads up, never saw that film...looks cool. i love EVERYTHING 60s.
I love EYE OF THE DEVIL. Sorry to veer this off topic but God wasn't Sharon Tate just so, so gorgeous?!
I liked Hemmings in BLOW UP and even his small, sinister turn as "Mordred" in CAMELOT. He's a very talented actor.
I got Eye of the Devil from Warner Archives for like 10 bucks during one of their sales.Worth every penny.David is beautiful, but I've always liked Terence Stamp and Udo Kier a little more. Here is the trailer.

Hemmings was hot hot hot. I about passed out when I saw GLADIATOR, checked out the credits, and realized the old man playing the guy in charge of the Colisseum was Hemmings. He's still got those incredible eyes, though.
Only Peter O'Toole ( shoulda been a porn name!)
of whom it was said if he was any prettier they would have had to call it "Florence of Arabia".
he didn't age so well either , but what a glory at the time!

My cineaste creds are pretty slim--a couple of film-history survey courses taken as an undergraduate. But we screened 'Blow Up' and it absolutely took my breath away. I thought the film was so beautifully framed and shot. So Architectural. So cool. So....soigne.
It seems to me that it gets very little critical attention, compared to 'L'avventura' or 'Identification of a Woman', and maybe justly so. Hell, I was only there for some easy liberal-arts elective credits and because the TA was hot.
But I'm with you Tiny--it's one of my faves.
I sorta assumed every basic film class screened Blow Up--in first year uni we had to do a paper about it and DePalma's Blow Out. Great film.
I remember reading that Bergman called 'Blow Up' a "masterpiece", but it seems to me that when Antonioni is cited for his influence or given credit for his best work 'Blow Up' is rarely mentioned.
Perhaps I'm reading the wrong articles...
Blow Up is great if for nothing else of the excellent pop culture artifact with the rock concert moment of a young Jimmy Page with Jeff Beck in The Yardbirds.
But I still like Blow Out a little more. Maybe due to its specific, distinctive American scandal angle.
Hemming also was in Deep Red a great Argento film.

Don't forget Austin Powers did a homage to Blow Up.
I dunno, Addison--I won't disagree with your experience, but I actually thought Blow Up was the one Antonioni work most (English speaking, anyway) audiences still knew.
