Where would we be without Mr. Klein's efforts to redefine the tiny whities aesthetic? Brief briefs as it were. The gifted Hounsou was heretofore known for his Oscar-nominated performances. Yet yesterday I saw a bunch of women d'un age certain poised, gasping, in front of the massive ad currently displayed in the Macy's underwear section, also on A-5 of Times today. Mr. H's ... sensitivity ... is not what's being exploited. And clearly IN AMERICA wasn't on the ladies'minds. I could only think of the late Alice Ghostley's memorable invocations on GOLDEN GIRLS....

The ads are stunning. I used to think so much of Mr. Hounsou until he took up with that Kimora Lee Simmons.

Honey, In America isn't on anyone's mind.

I'm not sure what the thrust of this thread is. Is it deriding Calvin Klein for exploiting Hounsou? Hounsou for being exploited? The woman for being complicit in the exploitation? The fact that it's a man in position that usually a woman's?

Phillis Sweetie, it's a thoroughly thrust-free thread. An innocuous meditation on an actor's opportunities, a culture's capricious tastes, and no doubt on a Broadway World.com poster's bordom.

Um...they may be white. And they may be tight.

But those are NOT tighty whities.

There are actually several different styles on display in the spread. I think those are more a "Boxer brief" but I'd really need to examine them close up in person to say for sure.

I'm trying to remember what Alice Ghostley said on "The Golden Girls" that fits here, but I'm drawing a blank.

Help me, doodlenyc, you're my only hope!

The are clearly boxer briefs. I would not need to examine them up close to ascertain that.

I would, however, need to be up close to suck him off.

Did I just say that???

Anyone who wants to see Mr. Hounsou do some thrusting needs to check out Sandra Bernhard's WITHOUT YOU I'M NOTHING. Yes, that's him...sticking it to Sandra right before she goes into her "I Never Meant To Hurt You" monologue. Ass-terpiece Theatre.

Women were gasping?

For what?

There's millions of well built men with smaller than average penis'.

Calvin dear, I dont think there is anything quotable from Alice Ghostley from The Golden Girls, as she was only in one episode, playing Stan's mother living in a trailer. It's the mothers day trilogy episode and Dorothy has to ask her for money.

On Designing Women she had a few quotables each episode...were you thinking of that? Was it when she answered the phone "Boogershakers!" instead of "Sugarbakers"?
