Posted: 7/10/13 at 10:21amWhoopi seems to have gotten progressively stupider in her years on The View, too.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 10:34amI agree Phyllis. It is like she has given up on what she was bringing to the table. And I always feel like she hates being there.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 10:36amHasselbeck and FOX News are a match made in Republican Heaven. UPTIGHT & CONSERVATIVE. You can't drive a wedge between that combo.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 11:15amI watch the first 15 minutes of the show in the evening when I am preparing dinner. Mostly out of habit. I find it insufferable. Barbra kills whatever rhythm they get going in the conversation. I thought she was incredibly rude to Bernadette Peters yesterday.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 11:16amYeah, it's time for Barbara to go. Other than her weirdness, I actually thought that was an oddly sweet and sentimental segment. They all surely seemed genuine.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 11:28amIn the times I've caught in the past few years, Barbara seems increasingly antagonistic towards everyone, guests and co-hosts a like.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 11:29am@ DAME: What's the 4-1-1 in regards to Barbara's rudeness towards Bernadette Peters. I don't regularly watch the show so I did not get to see it.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 11:31amIt was the way she pretty much told her to shut up so she can make her plug. She does it a lot with her guests.

These are Hasselbeck's most memorable moments.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 11:46amI have also noticed Barbara being antagonistic to everyone too. I went last year to try to get into see Sara Ramirez as a guest, and was not able to. After going home and seeing that interview with Barbara smugly throwing the word gay around in regards to Sara's character on Grey's Anatomy, I was glad to have missed that live in person.

Barbara was crazy rude to Larry King a couple weeks back.
And Sherri is currently tweeting like crazy her about love for Elizabeth.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 11:59amHow did they not put together a flashback video package for her? Odd. They gave video segments for Sherri and Whoopi when they both started, if memory serves. Seems weird that they didn't make one for Elisabeth's send off.

1. Why wasn't Sherri at elisabeth's last show if they're such good friends.
2. I don't Bwaba being rude as much as I mind the charades she plays with her hands when she talks, her chpmunk little front teeth, the sound of her voice, and her in general.
3. I love Whoopi, I wish she loved being there.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 12:38pmThey should just put a fork in the entire show. Enough is enough.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 12:45pmtrue. I would miss Whoopi but if I have to listen to a bunch of ladies chatting I'll watch the Talk. ugh. Sarah Gilbert's good tho.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 1:12pmI don't mind the Talk, although I rarely watch it since GH is on at the same time. At least the women on the talk get along, don't talk over each other and make each other laugh.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 1:17pmI watched a bit of this crappy show last week while visiting friends. Barbara was learning how to throw clay and Sherri was commenting on the prodeedings. It was one of the most inane things I've seen a long while. I wanted to punch the television and see if Walters and Shepherd winced.

Posted: 7/10/13 at 3:01pmThe View...The Talk...S.O.S. with two different sets of annoying panelists. I say shut them both down. A waste of air time.

Again, I go back to my statement from a Jim Mora Sr quote in regards to her--"They think they know. But they don't know. And they never, ever will..."
Elisabeth and the Fascist News Channel are definitely tailor-made for, and deserve, each other. She may be good-looking but she IS ANNOYING and self-righteous. Like plenty of those who deem themselves conservative, in and outside the media realm, she is not really a solid researcher, not book smart and very likely anti-intellectual, doesn't think critically, and at times fundamentally dishonest and unfair. Conservatism, as one famous English classic conservative says, contains a certain amount of meanness and certain lack of empathy. As Janine Garafalo notes all this really when she brings up "dead reckoning" about present-day ones. They are very limited--and naive and ethnocentric--in their mentality and doesn't know much about various other complex aspects and the undercurrents in the whole world--they certainly have a lot to learn. Ultimately very dangerous over time for all of society.

When the subject on The View dealing with "n-----" as I watched ew.com's link that beautywickedlover brought over, Elizabeth isn't really conscious of how incredibly complex that word is and just think it's offensive and of absolutely no use whatsoever now. Banning the word can't happen; it's in the dictionary and it WILL be used in some context and capacity. People forget this in these debates. Won't change overnight. Sure, it can be offensive, inelegant, and crude, but there's also a serious class element to that word in recognizing that social status the person(s) is. Elisabeth is wrong to state there are no different worlds in many societies within a homnogenous nation like the United States and in many Western nations. There are. Simple anthropology. Better to focus on fighting for racial equality as we become more racially diverse by the day.
