Why are they both so ANGRY with her? Did she pee in their Cheerios?

It seems to go beyond cattiness and enter into this bizarre vendetta territory. Is there a feud between them that I haven't been following? Has she dissed them in the past and they're out for revenge? Did she TP one of their mansions?

Just when you get to the point where you're kind of enjoying being annoyed by Madonna, Sir Elton has to come along and provide her with an opportunity to look great by simply taking the high road.

I'm in the "this actually makes me side with Madonna" camp. Whatever the real story, Elton and his husband are the ones who look like the a-holes here.

Elton John and his husband are twits. They came across as quite crass in the clip in the link, mentioning only the high-profile nominees and referring to the apparent success of their film "it did 100 million!". Oafs.

I love Madonna and love Masterpiece, but for me the Sinead O'Connor song from Albert Nobbs should've won anyway.

Bettyboy72 Madonna has never been an artist who made bitchy remarks about others, she has always stayed quiet, even when Elton hit out at her a few years ago she came back with a fun sweet comment, last night she also said she adored him.

As for the Gaga comment, yes she said the song was 'reductive' but to be fair the world has been saying that the song was a rip offnfor Express Yourself for the past year, and unless you are deaf you cant really deny that. That was the only thing Madonna said about Gaga that could be seen as negative (and it was about the song, not her) every other thing she has said has been positive (she thinks she is great, a great performer, very talented etc) but it's very easy to focus on the negative.

John and the oldest kept boy in Hollywood are saying thse things because she said the reductive comment about Gaga, the woman they have attached themselves too to seem relevent again (much like he did with Eminem). I find him a joke (gaga the god mother? did he have no real friends). This has made them seem silly and petty

The man is a joke who will do anything for publicity and money. He's so for gay rights yet was against gay marrige (and is now wed with a kid). He want's to stamp out homophobia yet performs at the wedding of Rush Limbaugh for 1 million. He is all about positive gay role models yet performs with Eminem. He is just vile.

Not to give Sir Elton credit but I don't think Eminem has done anything to the degree he did in his early works in terms of homophobia after he struck up a friendship with him. Honestly, Eminem was a young guy who grew up impoverished, urban area and had rage that he directed (or rather misdirected) at every subject to all of his songs.

And no I don't think Elton was seeking to strike a friendship for Eminem to denounce everything he previously said, I think he just admired his ability as a rap artist (and that performance of "Stan" is amazing) which has since matured and he is still a popular artist without being so rage-fueled. IIRC even in that vanity project film Eight Mile, years after those tracks came out, Eminem portrayed somebody more understanding of people's sexuality with one of his friends being gay in the film and defending him while free-styling.

No he attached himself to Eminem because he was popular at the time, just like he has with Gaga. And Namo i don't really care if she play the recorder with her a vagina the simple fact is he has attached himself to her because she's the new 'hot star'. He does it all the time, he's so obvious.

strummergirl to me it makes no difference if Eminem is very talented (i agree) or useless, he was/is homophobic, i don't care if Elton told us he had helped Eminem see the light, the simple fact is his lyrics on some of his tracks were vile towards the gay community.

Simple fact is Elton is a leech as much as his well paid house boy is.
