I agree! I love music from "Tosca" but his choreography still looked like that Michael Jackson program from the last Olympics!
He just did an interview and I've noticed that Russians always say "I am So Happy!" The word "so" being the word that they always say!

Stephane only did a 2 axel, which is probably a good thing because I read he was falling a lot on his 3 axel.
I'm not usually a fan on his costumes though or his music though. Today those two things were better.

Posted: 2/14/06 at 8:43pmHehe ... they can say "so" all they want, because if someone tried to interview me in Russian, I'd just stand there, smile, and wave. :) They said Johnny is next, but of course they switched sports. Sigh. He was about 1/2 way through the starting order that I saw this morning with both of the other Americans in warm up groups after him. Maybe I'll get to go to sleep at a normal hour tonight.

On Olympic Ice They showed Johnny Weir doing 4 toes and 4 toe-3 toe. I didn't even know he had a 4 toe!
Good for him!

Posted: 2/14/06 at 8:48pmHe's had it for awhile, because I went to college at the Univ of Delaware when he was skating there and I can remember him doing them a lot. It was so neat to go to school there ... we took our intro to skating college class inbetween the Olympic International Dance teams ice time and the senior guys/pairs ice time. SO cool.

Posted: 2/14/06 at 8:49pmI love Stephane Lambiel and his spins! So reminiscent of Lucinda Rue (a magnificent spinner).
#433Figure Skating Chat
Posted: 2/14/06 at 8:52pmI am a big fan of quality spins as well. Not everyone has great ones anymore!

WOW JLSatUD that sounds really cool!
I can say "thank you" in Russian, but that's it! Irina Slutskaya can speak English the best. Yagudin too. Speaking of Russians, Did Victoria Voltkova make the team? Or is she retired?
Ahhh, Lucinda Ruh! I've only seen her compete in professional competitions and shows. But the best example of a skater who had everything except the most important thing!

Posted: 2/14/06 at 8:56pmSpeaking of spins! The Japanese guy did a layback! I love it when guys do laybacks......if they can pull it off! If I were a skater I would do one too!

I think I'd fall over after like the 3rd revolution. :) I got to the part of skating where they make you learn back crossovers, and then I stopped. I knew how to do a really small waltz jump but backcrossovers scared me because I kept falling and falling hurts! They don't make it look like it hurts on TV! I guess I'm a wimp

I had skating lessons. I'm not sure I ever fell, but I know that I never knew how to stop! I always just ran into the boards!
One of the skating instructor at the ice rink was 1992 Olympic Pairs Champion Natalia Mishkutienok!

Oh, isn't it fun to have "famous" instructors?! A lot of the pairs people taught classes at UD, like Tiffany Scott and Phil Duhlbon or however it's spelled.
Sara, so far Plushenko is in first with like 90 points. Lots and lots of points for a quad/triple combo. We haven't seen any Americans skate yet.

I love Johnny on the ice.
But off the ice, I don't know. I mean, we get the idea already, "Your different and you don't care what people think about you". Okay.
He just kinda doesn't seem like the nicest person out there. But he may very well be!
My favorite American is Evan!

Posted: 2/14/06 at 9:38pmHi Jane2. Johnny's program gave me chills. I love that piece of music.
#446Figure Skating Chat
Posted: 2/14/06 at 9:41pmI thought it was funny that on Olympic Ice for Johnny's introduction, they used that traditionally gay slogan of "He's here, he's Weir(queer, which used to be my nickname for him!)!"

I'm watching the short programs right now...damn I hope Emanuel Sandu does well (he's Canadian...they probably won't show him in you're watching an American station).
Anyways, he's amazing.
However, a big of a mystery. Because he's won very few medals.
He is VERY VERY VERY inconsistant, but when he's on, he is by far the best skater I have ever seen.
I just can't wait for the day he finally pulls it together on Olympic ice...he's running out of time!
