When I was taking my dogs to the vet there was a doctor there who pretty much just let us into her personal life. She talked about how one of the other doctors was having a divorce and about how bad kids at her daughters high school were. She was still very nice though.

I don't oooh & ahhh or think things are amazing all that much but the high school production of "Peter Pan" that I just saw was just that-- AMAZING!
It was 3 hours long and everything was perfect. The whole flying effects were great and the actors were absolutely terrific. Peter Pan was a girl and although her voice wasn't great, everything else made up for it. From the set, to the scenery and the costumes...it was wonderful!
Better yet-- It was done in sign language. All of the actors spoke their part and did sign language- it was nearly professional.
**The girl who played tinkerbell is actually deaf- she was fantastic!
I went with 3 friends. 2 from school and 1 from rehearsal for the show I'm in.
The girl from the rehearsal brought her friend who is 17. A senior in high school and has a 3 month old baby. And has a boyfriend that looks like he just got out of jail. I held the baby and she fell asleep on me for the whole first act.
*zips lips from comments that could easily be made about young people having kids*
Some Broadway shows I've seen haven't been even close to as good as what this was!!
Speaking of real people playing Tink, my boyfriend and I are watching HOOK tonight. He's never seen it.
We're also getting a large supreme pizza and a dozen spicy buffalo wings. Calories, here we come!

Do you consider deaf people not "real?"
*prays for what I'm hoping and not thinking*
I really want to punch someone in the face right now.

I'm thinking he is taking the "real" people as people playing the character of Tinkerbell and not it being a small little light or something. SweetQ, glad some high schools are taking pride in the shows! My school sort of does that, but their are some of the issues behind it that I won't get into. How did they do the flying effect?

They had some professional 'flying illusions' company come in.
They basically hooked the ropes onto the back of the costume and they pulled it up and they...flew.
But like 4 of them flew at the same time and it looked so awesome. And they landed so gracefully...
And then they like hooked stuffed bears and they flew as if it was a mobile.
It had to take a ton of practice.
When we left, a little kid said to his mom, "Can you teach me to fly like Mr. Pan?"
It was adorable!!

That is so cool. My school definitely does not get that into it. Fiddler on the Roof this year. Not too thrilled but I guess I shouldn't care because I don't do the musicals in my school. And that is so adorable!! I want to fly too!!

I told the people I was with that I should fly in my show. As you may know, I'm Poopsie in the Pajama Game and flying wouldn't be out of character for me.
Let's get some professional 'flying company!'
Seriously, that would be awesome to fly like that. The more I think about it, the more I want to do it. haha

I did not know that you were Poopsie. They did Pajama Game in my school like 4 years ago. I've gone on ziplines, trapezes, and rope levitating stuff but it has never been on stage so it kind of takes the cool effect part out.
It's really hot in my room.
I have four Canker sores on my bottem lip, one on my tounge, on on my throat, and I have strep throat.

I'm sure he'll make a thread praising himself for being so open-minded about deaf people. Oh, wait...

My room is hot too, but if I open the window, my allergies will go nuts. It's too early for spring.

Ooh, very cool, Neddy!
My Spring Break is ending. I have done none of my homework. I am screwed.
A light in my moniter blew out. The screen is still on but it's not lit up. So I am shining a desk lamp on it...but I can still barely see.
I'm going to have to give it up for a couple of days.
STOP THE GREASE THREADS!!!! There is literally over 10 on front page of the Broadway board.
Agreed...I'm okay with one or two, but honestly.
You know when you have so much homework to do that you can't bring yourself to do any of it? That is why I keep looking at all those Grease threads.
I felt so bad for my sister tonight. She is a vegetarian and ordered a burger, but with a veggie burger. My dad ordered the same type of burger w/ meat, and the server accidentally gave my sister he meat, and she had a bite of it and then realized it was meat.

Oh My, wonderfulwizard! Was she quite upset?
My ear and hand itches so bad!
So many people at rehearsal are getting sick...like bad. They are out for like a week with 102 fever. I pray I don't become one of them.
I should sleep- long day tomorrow. However, what I SHOULD do, CAN do, and WILL do, are 3 very different things.
She was. I felt very bad (and this has happened at other restaurants).
I wish there were more hours in the day.
Today, I'm singing "Happy Birthday" to a male colleague... à la Marilyn Monroe... in a blonde wig.
Take pictures! :)
I'm in the middle of a big writing assignment. I had been afraid I wouldn't have enough to say (I was given a word requirement), but I'm fast approaching it and not yet near done.

I have had one class-- in which I was waiting for a grade, but the teacher didn't get to grade the 4 people last week...ARG
I have 2 more classes and rehearsal and I can barely keep my eyes open.
