Well, that's how you perceive her.
And yet, you can't resist commenting on everything she does...

No crime here. Like may other artists, business entrepreneurs, etc. she is taking advantage of Twitter, one of the most widely used social media platforms to promote her product. I don't understand what the big deal is.

broadway86, nice try. just because someone insists on making their feelings known doesn't devalue the feelings in any way. I crack up whenever I see someone whine "well, why do you writer about her if you dislike her so much?!!?"
Um..because I can...

I am perfectly aware of this. But it's not even that you're expressing your opinion on her, but now you're telling us what she thinks of herself. Okay.
Making your feelings on a subject known is one thing, but consistently negative on any thread that happens to mention her? Jeez, did she happen to trip you on the street at some point?
And please, make no mistake, I am not whining. I don't take this discussion seriously at all, but I do enjoy talking about her work with others.

Posted: 10/22/13 at 6:59pmWhat would Lady Gage do if social media didn't exist? She'd be flopping right now. Her histrionics, as staged as they are, are very desperate. She's perilously close to done. Mark my words.

Bettyboy72-
I don't know if you saw Gaga's iTunes concert (doubtful), but she proved then and there that she is a true pop force, and doesn't need elaborate makeup and costumes to command a crowd. With this latest album, she is doing the most exciting work of her career. On top of that, "Applause" had terrific longevity, and her latest single is #1 in over 60+ countries.
With all due respect, mark my words: you will be proven wrong. :)

OK so she is writing music for the music not for the charts....yet she is non stop telling fans to buy the new limited edition copy of hr album in a pink foil (limited edition meaning 500 thousand copies)after telling them to also buy the online edition. She linked a rolling video of her song to gain higher chart positions (still could not make number one) even to be told off by Billboard for doing it.
She is her own woman, yet uses Madonna's name in her odd tweet rampage to promote the single (most articles about her tweets have Madonna in the headline, she knew what she was doing).
She is the biggest contradiction in the industry, she yet again has told the world her album will be the album of the century (are you frigging kidding me, is that like how Born This Way was the album of the decade?). Her first single from this album even with her people buying radio air time, linking non stop to the free video (which for some reason counts towards chart position in the states) and non stop promo STILL could not make number 1.
She would do much better if she kept her mouth shut and just released her music, a lot like Perry has done (by the way her new album is really good)

You do understand that Interscope most likely made her do that, right? She does kind of need to make them money, unfortunately. And why even bother harping on it, that was two months ago. It was a business ploy, and one that didn't really go anywhere.
And honestly, the whole point of "Applause" was to get the general public back again, and by golly, it seems to have worked like a charm. #1 is not necessarily important, it had longevity and remained in the iTunes top 10 for, what was it, two months? With comparatively little promotion, I might add. It did so much better than any fans OR detractors expected, so please...

I'm betting that you didn't see her tweet after that one, blatantly stating that she was joking.
Perry's album is decent btw, though it does illustrate why I personally prefer Gaga's music. I love "Walking on Air" and "Birthday".

She is an OBSCENELY expensive act to produce. She needs to sell multiple millions of albums to justify her outrageous production expenses. It would do her good to shut up, take off the make up, wigs, and garbage bags and just sing. She will not have a record label soon-she is just too expensive.
She's very very talented and can sing well and beautifully-she needs to stick to that. The smoke, mirrors and bravado are exhausting this fan. Her new album is poised to flop big time.

Okay, betty. Obviously you don't appreciate her aesthetic, and that's fine. But she doesn't need to do anything than what she's doing at the present. Musically and as a performer, she is doing no wrong in this particular era. Keep in mind, as much as I admire her, even I can admit that she has had missteps.
ETA: I'm calling it now, her album will do just fine. The Amazon and iTunes pre-orders alone are through the roof.

Well that has nothing to do with the topic whatsoever, but I appreciate the concern...
You have your opinions on Gaga, I have mine. We all seem to be having a perfectly lucid conversation. So what's your problem?

Exactly! I think people are finally tired of Gaga's antics now. I really think Perry may continue to outsell Gaga. ROAR basically crushed APPLAUSE. And I would not be surprised if PRISM winds up outselling ARTPOP. Or will Gaga offer the album for 99 cents again??

Well yes, that is true. Some people are tired of her. Perhaps a lot of people. She will always be polarizing. This is not news, my friend. But, and I hate to break this to you, it would appear that even more people still like her.

Because "Applause" did soooo poorly, and sales = quality :)
I give up, are you intentionally mimicking those ridiculous headlines in the original post? I honestly can't tell...

This is like a Madonna thread except broadway86 is songanddanceman2 and lizasheadband and bettyboy72 are FindingNamo.
Same game. Different players.

My favorite thing about this thread is how broadway86 responds to almost every negative post within 10-15 minutes and isn't taking it very seriously at all.

You know, it is possible to catch up on television during the evening and respond to posts. I'm a fan and always down for a Gaga discussion, particularly when the detractors are as passionate about their opinion. I just think it's interesting that so much time is spent on their behalf discussing an artist that they, in their words, can't stand
Proof?
You can look at Amazon and iTunes for this information. But the new single has been getting strong feedback and charting extremely well without having been submitted to radio (yet), "Applause" was in the top 10 on iTunes for two months, and the album itself is #4 in physical pre-sale charts, and #5 on worldwide digital pre-sale. And there are still three weeks to go. She'll be fine.

I'm trying to figure out why some of you are having a problem with broadway86 and his love for Lady Gaga. We all have our favorite "divas", actors, actresses, performers, etc. and will support their each and every endeavor because we appreciate their talent.
Gaga just happens to be (one of) broadway86's favorites. Leave him be. He's not causing anyone any harm.
Whether you like or hate Gaga or the way she goes about her business when all is said and done there's no denying that she is popular and her records are selling.

Posted: 10/23/13 at 10:31amI don't get it either. The strongest negative emotion I can work up about a performer whose work I don't like is indifference.
