As someone who really doesn't understand the concept of comparing creative endeavors, my interest in these types of affairs is somewhat different. I'm always fascinated to see how other artists present themselves, especially in an environment where they're all thrown together.
I really appreciated Mr. Foxx's sincerity and seemingly genuine emotion, and Mr. Williams entertained as expected - and brought it back to reality with his dedication to Mr. Reeve, which was also expected. Ms. Benning seems to be a woman of much grace, and I was amazed to watch Ms. Swank address her fellow creators with such focus and intent.
On a purely superficial level, I thought Glenn Close looked magnificent, and if I were a straight man, I can't imagine having many needs that Ms. Hatcher couldn't meet. While I didn't appreciate The Phantom of the Opera in general, or Ms. Rossum's performance in it, I really was taken by her presentation on the red carpet - very self-possessed and assured, with a hint of Audrey Hepburn's grace. And Cate Blanchett is my answer to people who say they don't make them like they used to.
On the purient level, Johnny Depp continues to intrigue, Pierce Brosnan is a walking advertisement for finely aged beef, and I would pay money to have been the toothpick in Liam Neeson's mouth. And, no Corrine, you're not the only one who thought Leo was hot.
