"Johnny Depp gets Fuc*ing robbed again!"

Did you, by any chance, see "The Aviator", "Kinsey", "Hotel Rwanda", or "The Sea Inside"? He was lucky to get nominated.

"And Jim Carrey gets overlooked for his best work ever."

IMHO, his best work was in either "The Truman Show" or "Man on the Moon", and he won for both.

how good was Sideways? I mean, I know not many people liked POTO, but it was a great motion picture,so I ask, how was Sideways?
"It's a great feeling of power to be naked in front of people. We're happy to watch actual incredible graphic violence and gore, but as soon as somebody's naked it seems like the public goes a bit bananas about the whole thing."

re: Golden Globes SPOILERS

Sideways was fantastic and deserving. I'm reluctant to see POTO (I'm not a fan of the show), but I don't think my opinion would change even if I did see it.

No it wasn't. It was a travesty of a motion picture.

re: Golden Globes SPOILERS

Phantom even being nominated is one of those weird Golden Globes travesties. Like when Pia Zadora got a award. Sideways is wonderful. And while I am glad Aviator won ( it is a excellent film) I still think Million Dollar Baby is the best pic. But I am so happy the awards were so spread out. It means more people will check out these well deserving films.

Scorcese must be PISSED that he didn't get a Globe for direction.

Kangaroo, it's not as if Josh Groban would be awarded with anything for "Believe." He only sang it. The people who wrote it would have gotten awarded.

re: Golden Globes SPOILERS

Yes but the year that Saving Private Ryan swept the Oscars but Spielberg didn't win for director, he was not happy. And Scorcese is so overlooked so often, it's getting beyond a joke. And this is his strongest film in years. If this doesn't win him awards for direction, he may as well retire.

re: Golden Globes SPOILERS

Well, a couple of years ago, Scorcese won a Globe for Directing Gangs of New York, and the movie didn't win Best Picture. (Chicago won Best Musical/Comedy and The Hours won Best Drama) So, this kinda evens things up. However, Scorcese has NEVER won an Oscar. I still think this is going to be his year.

Taryn, I know... but I saw him there, and that would still have been amazing knowing that he helped to get a Golden Globe for people. It probably sounds kind of dumb, but I still was rooting for the song... it is beautiful.

And I really thought that Ray was going to win for Best musical/comedy.

Fashion Page of CBS's Early Show give KUDOS to Patrick Wilson

Patrick Wilson ("Phantom Of The Opera" / "Angels In America") - "Hot, hot, hot!" Yalof Schwartz says. He made the look of shirt with no tie so hot. As with Jamie Foxx, again another great example of the trend of wearing no tie. Javier Bardem showed well, too.

Heck...we all know he looks HOT dressed up or casual!!!

Well, Hotel Rwanda didn't win anything. But what do you expect from a whole bunch of little old white lady voters, who know nothing about the performing arts, except for Hollywood blockbusters, and what they see on tv. I hate the GG, because the Foreign Press is nothing but a bunch of phony B.S.
The Aviator was bound to win, because that was the biggest dramatic Blockbuster nominated.
I just hope this doesn't ruin Hotel Rwanda's chance for the Oscar's.
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

That same comment can be levelled at pretty much all award ceremonies, I would wager.

hey papa,
Saw a documentary on this subject. The foreign press aren't even foreign, let alone in the acting business. The countries that they represent are countries their families come from. The majority of those people live in California. It's all b.s.

Isn't it interesting how the Golden Globes are always said to be a strong indication of the outcome of the Oscars, yet the voters have little in common?

Though I must admit, The Aviator is EXACTLY the type of film Oscar loves. It's glossy and safe just like The English Patient, Out of Africa, Titanic, Driving Miss Daisy and A Beautiful Mind. Good movie? Yes. Best Picture of the year? No. Most memorable film of the year? No.

Honestly, I can't imagine how The Aviator actually won. Or how Leo beat out Javier Bardem.

"The Aviator was bound to win, because that was the biggest dramatic Blockbuster nominated."

It was also the best film in that category.

"I just hope this doesn't ruin Hotel Rwanda's chance for the Oscar's."

i saw that film last week, and cried. Beautiful. Unfortunately, it won't win anything.

"Honestly, I can't imagine how The Aviator actually won. Or how Leo beat out Javier Bardem."

Really? It had everything going for it: pedigree, critical acclaim, direction from Scorsese, award-worthy performances. Not to mention the fact that the film was, partially, about Hollywood. Personally, I found Bardem to be slightly overrated. If DiCaprio didn't get it, then Cheadle should have gotten it.

I hope that the Oscars are fair, but I think that Aviator's chances are very high. But Hotel Rwanda is a very good movie, and it should at least be nominated. Don Cheadle should get a GG or Oscar one of these years, but I don't think it's his year.
I think it's realistic that Leo won, I think it was down between him and Johnny Depp and Don Cheadle. I didn't really wager in Javier, because I didn't really think he was a threat.

Saw all of them acctually! And in my opinion Dicaprio cannot hold a candle to any of these perfromances. He was good in the Aviator but terribly incosistant with a tendancy to be one level.

Depp wins hands down. With Bardem nipping at his heels. Dicaprio finishes dead last in that list for me.
