Great episode! I adore this show.

What's wonderful is that this show (while it uses some seemingly cheap plot tricks) is 100% about the writing. These scripts are always superb, and the deeper meaning always makes the show seem less about getting ratings than expressing humanity.
And THAT'S why I watch this show regularly.
Your right about the cheap plot tricks. When you stop to think about it, last night's episode was pretty ridiculous. I mean what are the chances that Meridith and Ricci could switch hands like that?
BUT...the writing and acting on the show is so good that it still makes for amazing television. I don't remember the last time I was on the edge of seat like that for an hour.
Best show on TV right now period.
Felt like I couldn't breathe the entire episode, my friends and I were on the edge of our seats it was amazing. When the show ended there was a collective NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! haha can't wait til Sunday, and this episode proves why this is one of the few shows that I still watch!
I've watched Grey's Anatomy since episode 1 and it's really an amazing show. Last night's episode was designed to get even more viewers and from the sound of everyone in this thread, it worked.
It's one of the few shows that I actually watch live vs catching after the fact on Tivo.
I watched for the first time last night. Didn't really grab me. There were some good elements, (I like the character of Bailey - is that her name?), but overall, it seemed like a big soap opera. I can see how this show can attract an audience, but not really me thing.
P.S. I loved Romano's character. I hated to see him go. ER became less interesting when he left. It was cool that Paul McCrane (the actor who played Romano) directed the latest ER episode, the one with James Woods. You want to talk about good writing? Watch that episode of ER!
ER doesn't do anything for me anymore...I think the writing on Grey's Anatomy surpasses that of ER back when it was still good.
"Figures the one time I watch, it's a two-parter..."
Wasn't that kind of the point? They knew they'd have the Superbowl audience so they better drag you in.
Great episode. I LOVE George.
Yep, it seems like they did a great job of attracting new viewers and getting them to watch again through that cliffhanger.

I was screaming at my TV last night, "You've got to be f******* kidding me!" over and over again, I didn't know it was going to be a two-parter. Evil bastards!
Is it next Sunday yet?
I wouldn't mind if the bomb blew Grey to smithereens. I love everyone on the show except her. Honestly, I think it because of the actress. After seeing her on Punk'd, every time I see her I think, "TRASH! TRASH!"
I didn't plan ahead and my Tivo cut it off half way through. Anyone know if it's going to be up on the internet, or have it recorded?

I too have watched this from day uno and loved every minute of it. I think I've only missed two or three episodes. Last night was one of the best I've seen.
And who knew about Ricci guest starring? I love her and was surprised to see her. Poor girl, but I probably would've done the same thing and got the hell out of there.
Did anyone catch the Grey's Anatomy skit on Mad TV last week? Hilarious!
The only thing that bugged me was Izzy and the stupid response to "Code Black" in the elevator. She should've known what Code Black meant. Hell, even I know what code black meant, and I've only volunteered at a hospital. (Summer after 7th grade.)
oh my god.. suchhh a good episode. I was like freaking out, it was so suspensful. I really want to know how this will end.

Poor Bailey though, pregnant and her husband is in surgery and might die.
Scary.
I loved the line Dr Male Shephard gave to the bomb tech when he ordered him out of the OR.
"I'm not scared of the chief of surgery. I'm scared of Dr Bailey."
speaking of the Dr. Shephards...
why does George keep referring to her as Dr. Montgomery Shephard
isn't it Dr. Addison Shephard?

Hmm.. I think you're right. I remember thinking last night, before I went to bed, that no one should be called Montgomery. It's such an awful name.
Well, all except Mr Monty Burns.
I did want to see a little more Izzy/Alex action, though!
I believe Montgomery is Addison's maiden name, and assume that she hyphenated her name when she got married?
She is Dr. Montgomery-Shepherd
Actually Captain....Code Black does not mean the same thing in every hospital. In the hospital that runs the school based clinic where I work a bomb threat is code orange and code black means violence.

I've enjoyed this show from day 1 and just keeps getting better. Last night's episode was about the best I have seen so far.....especially with that cliffhanger!

I think the point was that no one was supposed to know what code black was except for the residents (is that the right word? I get them confused). I think it made it more interesting that no one really knew what was going on. And I think the woman that plays Addison was brilliant in that episode. I know we're supposed to hate her and want McDreamy to get back with her, but I can't help liking her.
My favorite line from last nights episode:
Meredith: "She's got my McDreamy, she's got my McDog. She's got my McLife."
And as for Ellen on Punk'd...I think she was in on it from the moment her boyfriend told her to move over...she seemed to be totally playing into it. She even glances at the camera a few times.
