Anybody else think that after Izzie figured out Denny's "I'm here for you" speech, she was going to die and be the donor for the little boy who needed the intestine? I was kinda disappointed when that didn't happen.....

Okay I finally re-watched Grey's on DVR when I got home and got to see what I missed.
Im intrigued to see what will happen to Izzie. And this was the first episode of Grey's in quite a while that moved me to tears. I loved it - and it's been a long time since Ive said that about an episode of Grey's
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
singingwendy, I had heard that Izzy was leaving Grey's - so I was happy they were finally leading up to ending the "ghost of Denny" nonsense. I wonder if it's going to take all season to have her end up in heaven or hell.
I loved the Bailey/McDreamy conundrum. Very touching moment at the end with Bailey and the Chief (I wonder how many times real doctors cross those lines).
They still haven't said ANYone is leaving the show. Katherine Heigl and TR Knight have both asked to be released from their contracts, but as of yet, they are still on the show. Hell, if an actor wants out... let them out. It was rumored that Sara Ramirez asked out of her contract when Brooke Smith was fired. (If that one's true, they couldn't possibly let her go right now due to the lesbian backlash they got with firing Brooke.) I half think they make this sh*t up so people like me stay interested.
Yeah, at this point, that would not surprise me. Quite honestly, this has been one weird season. It is just missing all it's little moments that makes it Grey's, and no other show. Plus, I hate how they sort of alienated Callie from the rest of the characters to not give her any screen time at all, but then, I have not seem too much continuous interaction between other characters either. Sure, you get the couples sometimes, but even those scenes seem to be lacking. Except for Denny and Izzie.
Can I just say.....I am so, so disgusted with the TOTALLY unrealistic depiction of Asperger's. It's..insulting. I have stayed with the show even throughout this less than stellar season, but this might put me over the edge. Again - I'm disgusted by this.
Well, given that Asperger's can be all over the place, I wouldn't call it unrealistic. I know a kid who is brilliant, but will scream if you get within his 12" personal space. I know adults who ask for compressions. (The machine mentioned in use with bovine slaughter was actually invented by a woman with Asperger's.) It COULD all exist in the same person. I just HATE that they play it for laughs. There's nothing funny about it.
"Meredith, I want your crappy babies," was the cutest line of the season.
I guess I'm taking it too personally because my brother has Asperger's and yes, they do play it for laughs - which offends me. (And I'm not easily offended).
I understand. I am a behavior therapist. I have had to let a lot of it go. Her symptoms could be realistic. I don't know of one person with all those specific symptoms, but I am sure there is someone out there. I wonder if Mary McDonnell studied Temple Grandin in her research for the role. It seems similar. Again, the joking isn't cool at all.
I really thought the crossover was supposed to start tonight. I guess technically it did, but I was wanting character interaction. Next week I get my girls together.

This little girl on Private Practice is making me cry. So is Cooper and Charlotte. But can you imagine going to the hospital to have a knee surgery and finding out your mom and dad just left you and have a completely new life? Maybe I'm just especially weepy tonight.
They are cheating. They are tricking the Grey's only fans into watching two episodes so far of PP and calling it a crossover. Other than the phone calls, there was nothing. They said each other's names, but they weren't THERE. That's not a crossover. Next week is.

Yeah, I watched both because I really thought there was going to be something special. Of course, there wasn't. Okay, I think they may have done that so people who only watch Grey's, (Like me) would understand what is going on with Addison's brother. I just knew he had a tumor of some sort from rumors and spoilers. I had no idea he was dating Naomi because I hate Private Practice. The story with the little girl was interesting, but I just can't stay focused because the storylines seem really disconnected, and then switching between all of them confuses me.
Yes, I agree that the crappy babies line was so funny. And I usually hate Meredith and Derek. Mark and Lexie is still gross. I'm kind of open to the idea of Callie and Arizona, but I'm not making commitments to them yet. Thank goodness Arizona seems stable. That is a good thing. Sadie and the rest of the interns need to just go away now.
I liked Arizona! I thought that happened to fast, but I like it.
I was at the theater tonight and taped it to watch when I got home. Now that I know there wasn't really a crossover, I'll wait until tomorrow and watch Letterman!
Yeah, Arizona seems a million times nicer than Erica was. And I already have made my comments about Sadie. It was a bit sudden, but we'll see. If this is good, than I will disregard Mark and his stupidity for wanting to be with Lexie, and they can be the new Gizzie for me. I think it's so bad that them as a couple makes Gizzie seem like it was a fantastic idea last season.
It was nice to see that George got his usual one line to say in this non-crossover "crossover" episode. I actually watch both Grey's and Private Practice and felt that the whole "crossover event" was a total rip-off.
And ok, so is it supposed to be obvious that Sadie screwed up the blood samples, and Izzy is not the one who just has anemia? (Because I know Shonda hates me, and we are not done with Dead Denny yet.) Removing her own appendix, screwing up bloodwork, I was about to ask how did she ever get this far in becoming a doctor, and then I looked at who else she was surrounded by- she actually fits right in there at Seattle Grace.
The only part I was intrigued by was Bailey the possible pediatric surgeon.
And ok, so is it supposed to be obvious that Sadie screwed up the blood samples, and Izzy is not the one who just has anemia?
I don't think it was supposed to be obvious, but it totally was! We already know from Denny that she's really sick, so clearly she's the one with cancer. And I watched about 5 minutes of Private Practice and had to turn it off because I had no clue what was going on haha. I'm glad I didn't watch the lame excuse for a "crossover".
Ok...that was NOT a crossover "event". I normally watch both shows anyway, but I was expecting more than just a linking phone call. Especially after the way ABC hyped it and showed previews from what are apparently next week's episodes.
I did like the story line with Bailey though. Putting her in the position that the thing that scares her most might be the thing she's best at. That could make for some great TV!
I agree! I think Bailey's storyline is the strongest on the show right now! She's absolutely perfect for pediatric surgery!
Bailey is the reason I still watch Grey's at all. I like Private Practice much more now.
Yeah, I think Denny is supposed to be around until next month or so. At least from what I have heard. Yeah, he needs to be gone because last night's episode was actually not that bad, and it partially is because he wasn't there, and Izzie wasn't a main storyline either for once. Well, what I mean is that we didn't see her 50 billion times.
I did notice what Sadie did. However, because Izzie was making them run all of those tests on her, I wonder if maybe Sadie knew something. Okay, that's a long slide, but maybe possible.

JG, they tricked only the PP fans into watching the whole episode of Grey's last night. I could've gotten away without sitting through it, and not missed a damn thing!

Yeah- what *did* happen with the results of Izzie's other tests? The whole thing is venturing into Very Special Episode territory- Izzie's going to learn a Valuable Lesson about the Value of Life once she gets her 'real' test results, during May sweeps, natch. Or something.
And- there's something about Lexie that creeps me out. That whole "I have to be true to and can't keep a secret from my sister" bit- total bunny boiler vibe off of that. Maybe it's just because Chyler Leigh's such an underwhelming actress.
Lexie is annoying. Nothing about her and Mark is good, in my opinion. I did love how Callie blew her off though. I'm not thinking that Callie was doing that because she is in love with Mark. Okay, I want that, but it doesn't seem like it will happen anytime soon. But, she kept mentioning that she was alone, and that makes sense with the new pairing of Mark and Lexie. Cristina has Meredith and now Owen. Callie has lost her person because I don't think she ever thought Mark would be serious about Lexie. I mean, just a couple of episodes ago they were making fun of wanting to sleep with interns.
