That poor bird. I picture this bald creature singing "My One True Friend" over and over and over.
I actually have the infamous John Kander interview that she deleated from the web. . I was able to download it from the tube with some program called tubetv that no longer works. I am able to play the interview but when I go to upload it or share in any way it tells me it is not a valid file. I have been wanting to share it since Dollypops birthday.
"Now I remember something else from that time. She was talking about some bird at the nursing home she was at for her broken ankle. Like how it was her friend. And I think it was missing some feathers or something. "
Yes! thank you. It's coming back to me now. When the bird subject came up, it also came up that I'm a bird person and that I have a parrot. I related to her bird story. But THEN - why in heck I ever made plans to meet up with her, I'll never know. But I made those plans. I was supposed to meet her in some restaurant on my way to work one night. She gave me the address. Well, surprise surprise, there was no restaurant at that address. When I got back to her on this board the next day, she said I should have walked over to the next avenue and looked for her there.
nuff said.
Fascinating/frightening.
Was her would-be lover CanWeTalkBroadway? ever heard from again?
Ahh, Corine and her ramblings. Beside the one's previously mentioned there was: the date with the hairy back and the manscaping discussion, the anal sex inquiry, the brother-in-law drama, and the 99 cent tuna. I miss her so.

She will always be our Charlotte.
I always assumed whoever posted the "chambermaid" tale was Corine's sock puppet.
Musto should get a job at Corine's Corner!
Who was it that got career advice from the hotel maid?
That was musicaltheatrefan3 or whatever the magic number was. It was obsessed with Emma Zaks or was her.
Thanks Marianne. I thought at the time that they had a Corine-like loopiness.

You shouldn't talk about Corine that way, Namo!

OTA did, indeed, come to the second picnic and brought his whole family. I wonder what ever happened to him. I suspect he still lurks.
Does anyone remember who it was that said they went to one of the picnics, found the location, saw the group of posters, and got too shy to join in, so they left?
The first two picnics were fun events and I believe each went a long way to solidify many of the developing relationships among the then-current posters. Here are 27 pages of comments pre- and post- the 2005 picnic.
Having been the first Moderator after Rob, I experienced some bittersweet memories glancing through this thread and recalling screen names I had long ago forgotten, and even more so those who became friends and more than acquaintances.
Those first few years on BWW were something quite special, even with their personal disagreements. I'm grateful for having had the experience of interacting with so many of those who made BWW "the place to be" during those early years.
Yes, Dollypop, I remember Minnelli Madness and that fateful Saturday night, and, no folks, I was not the person who ended it, despite rumors to the contrary. Oh, and yes, I still have a picture of MattG taken at our Pizza Party at John't Pizzaria on West 44th Street. Just a heads up, Yee of the buffed up icons
Peace.
BWW NYC Picnic #2 - 2005
Thanks Jose. Nice to see you around. It was actually Craig who deleted the Minnelli Madness. At the time he had said so himself. But you were responsible for deleting the second best Madness ever.. it was the day we started creating a list of places Corine had been banned from. You actually were very nice about it and sent out a PM letting us know you would be deleting it in a few hours because otherwise you would be hearing from her and she was too much of a pain to deal with.

When she was broke, and bought those bear puppets from AVE Q was the final straw for me.
She had played me for years, wanting to do interviews with the people I was working with. She Even interviewed me once.
But when she was telling me one day about being so broke, and then a few days later, bragging that she had purchased the bears at a charity auction, I lost it.
She tried to explain that she did it for a friend who was dying from AIDS, to support him, when it was obvious she just wanted those puppets so badly she was going to make up any lie to cover her behind.
She's the conductor of the crazy train we hear so much about.
Who is that in the pics with her?
That photo of her isn't flattering.
That is as good as it gets.
*snort*
Jose, those picnics were really fun! Wow - haven't thought about them in years. Thanks for posting the link.
Happy Anniversary all! It seems like only yesterday we were getting to annoy each other...I mean know each other. Thanks for all the laughter. Here's to many more! XO
