Congratulations, Feodor! Welcome to the elite!
You BET, Feodor.
But WHAT HAPPENED to your Icon--I don't see Julie Andrews ANYwhere!
(And you never told me on WHAT CD she recorded "My Ship".)
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Congratulations! Your posts are always written with wisdom and wit. (and you have such an archive of Julie Andrews photos!)

I thought I'd go back to me, for the occasion. Julie will return, shortly. Julie recorded "My Ship", 2 times. Once in 1958 for the album JULIE ANDREWS SINGS and again in 1968 for the film STAR!
Is Star! a good movie?

Thanks, Bluemoon. I like your avatar. Much prefer the DC to the goofy looking W.
me, I believe Feodor thinks ANYTHING with Julie Andrews is QUITE SUPERB...
I think a celebration is in order!
Congrats!

It depends on who you talk to. If you like Julie Andrews, it's a great movie. She's superb in it. She does comedy, drama and sings the hell out of some really great tunes. Unfortunately, the DVD has an awful amber tint to it, that wasn't meant to be there, dulling all the glorious technicolor. Thankfully, I have it on laserdisc, in its true color. Of course, nothing compares to seeing it it glorious 70MM Todd-AO on a gigantic curved screen!
Yeah I love Julie, but everything I read about Star is pretty bad; but I did like Thoroughly Modern Millie a lot, and no-one really liked that one either.
Sorry to thread-jack (:
Congratulations!

Actually, a lot of people liked 'Millie', it was the biggest film in United Artists' history, at the time. A big, big hit.
really? Hmm, I didn't know that
Congrats, Feodor! (Is this the part where I ambiguously-snarky ask you, "And how exactly has this changed your life?" ? )
So Feodor, where do you want your Legend Party to be?
Mine was at The Rainbow Room.

I want mine to be at the Cafe Winkler, which overlooks the city of Salzburg! They have good bands, food and drink! It'll be chilly, tonight; but we'll all dance close!
Feodor as a 'Millie' fan you should know that it was released by Universal *not* United Artists! LOL! And CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Ooops! You're right. It was Universal's biggest film, up to that point. It was HAWAII that was United Artists' biggest film, and thanks!
I loved Hawaii! I think it's ironic - - - Movie "Arthur" and Broadway "Guinevere" together!
And lets not forget Bette Middler, Marquise...
Congrats, Feodor. It's fun to be a Legend!

You can spot her if you see the widescreen, complete version. Unfortunately, once again, they released a DVD of a Julie film that isn't up to the previous laserdisc release. HAWAII was just released in mono and cut from 189 mins. to 161 mins. I won't be buying it and I'll be keeping my laserdisc. Not sure if what is cut, cuts out Bette; but you can see her on the ship, on the left hand side, when all the passengers are sick.
