The Crowne and the Millenium are probably mid-range in terms of price, but when I'm in the city, I spend so little time in the hotel that I can't see staying at a "five star" hotel.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

Yeah, I understood that the Millenium was one of the cheaper hotels in Times Square. That's where I'm staying next time I go, I believe.

I'm the same way. I basically just sleep there. I did, however, do a longer trip last year and decided to get a place where I could hang out and spend some time and it was a really a great experience. I stayed at the Hotel Casablanca which I would highly recommend, if you can afford it, and if you want a Hotel to relax in and not just someplace to crash.

The Millenium is really not one of the cheaper hotels in Times Square there are a number of hotels that cost less but it is cheaper than some.

Milford Plaza... kinda "eh" in my opinion. My favorite way to go to NY is to stay in Stamford and take the train in. The Stamford Marriot is SO nice and when we stayed there we got a great deal.

That seems a far distance to travel, from a hotel, to see a Broadway show. What time do you get back to the hotel after you've seen an evening show?

I admit, I'm a little high maintenance when it comes to hotels. I need good water pressure, nice amenities, etc. It's just the way I am. I travel a lot for work though, so I often have points and upgrades, etc. which help offset costs when I'm actually spending my own money.

In NYC, usually stay at the Westin Times Square, and the W Times Square. The Sheraton New York is pretty good too. The Sofitel is also nice - big rooms!

Personally, I like the Westin Times Square. The Marriott Marquis has remodeled and the rooms seem nicer to me now - and they have improved their elevator service (which was my major complaint about the Marquis in recent years).

Never stayed at the hotel but I have eaten at Gaby, the restaurant there, which was pretty good.

I stayed at the Blakely on 55th between 6th and 7th (i think) twice this summer, and i really like it there. It's right down from Carnegie Deli which made my dad a happy guy.

My first year I stayed at the Sheraton Manhattan and then after that I stayed at the Sheraton New York and then this last time I went I stayed at Holiday Inn (suprisingly, the hotel wasn't that bad, it was just really far from everything.)

Milford is pretty eh but so close for the theatre.
I like both the midtown Sheratons one has a great pool& health club the other has a really good Sun buffet.
Helmsley Middletown had a special rate other wise too far & no rm service.( don't really like the East side)
The Time was kinda fun small but elegant and great bar also close to theatres
An my ol standby Radio City apts. Cheap plus location location location

I have often stayed at The Edison, but I like the Washington Square.

I looked at the Washington Square once but for getting to and from a Broadway show, especially in the winter, it was not very convenient.
