Maisie, sounds like college is going well?
luscious, I am back! Thanks for noticing I was gone, too!
I was around, just lurking rather than posting because I had a couple friends up here visiting from Virginia and Ohio. It was a fun week, but peppered with super embarrassing moments like my extremely drunken karaoke rendition of "Born to Run" in a bar. I'm sure the Boss has a hit out for me now because of what I did to his song.

I just saw "The Others." What a creepy movie! I loved it, but it scared me in a strange kind of way... it's certainly not your average horror film.

Jag, I totally noticed I just figured you were far too busy doing that whole "Jag is Awesome" thing. Whatevs. Either way I'm glad you're back
.
I knew my idiocy would catch up with me eventually and by god if it didn't scare me half to death!!! Ever since I was little I always ate things, especially things in the back yard. The house I grew up in had a tree in the back yard and the leaves tasted like sweet lemons. Yummy. But jump to 15 years later and unfortunately I'm still pulling the same weirdo crap. I took my dog Jackson outside tonight and while he was doing his business I snapped a piece of this beautiful plant we have near the deck and chewed it. It was so tiny that I hardly even tasted it so I took a MUCH larger piece. In retrospect not the wisest thing but hey I'm an idiot sooo yeah......But the moment I chewed the second piece my mouth felt like it had a thousand glass shards in it and I couldn't talk or swallow. I rinsed, took a Benedryl, and then googled the plant. As it turns out it was a effing Elephant Ear Plant and yes it's poisonous!!!! Apparently everyone on God's green earth knew this except me so I called poison control and they said that if my tongue starts swelling in the middle of the night and I find it hard to breathe I should probably make a "quick" trip to the Emergency Room. WTF?! Ya know what chuckles, instead of going through that hooplah of the ER I was planning on suffocating to death during the night and hoping to be on the "list" for the Pearly Gates instead of feeding Cerberus doggie snacks at the gates of HADES!!! Stupid mofo. Now if I could just keep crazy sh*t out of my mouth I'd be fine.
Anyhoo, right now my lips are going numb and hopefully my tongue won't swell up and I'll be able to talk properly tomorrow. Just sit me in a corner and put a dunce cap on me!!! Sheesh!!!

Oh, tofu! I know I shouldn't laugh, but in the words of Stockard...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Really though, I hope you're okay! That sounds like something I would do (I used to eat rocks when I was little, if they were pretty enough), so I can sympathize.

Nope...I threatened bodily harm to anyone who tried. I do remember the guy running the karaoke doing air guitar behind me during the instrumental breaks while I continuously swore at my friends.

I have nothing but sympathy for you Tofu, I'm the same way. I seem to subscribe to the school of "whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger" and the only way I learn not to put strange things in my mouth is to put them in there in the first place. At least there's not as much in the UK that can kill me, but I should probably NEVER go to Australia!
Y'all, if you enjoyed The Others, I strongly recommend renting The Orphanage! Do it do it do it! I love it to pieces. :3

Well as it turns out I'm fine, just a full blown case of MORON!!! My tongue didn't swell and my speech is a-okay.
I gotta go because apparently I'm a 92 year old who not only enjoys a good game of Bridge with the girls but a nice lengthy nap before supper as well.
I'm actually saddened that BB isn't here. *sniffle*

It was fully my intention not to drink more than one glass of wine tonight. But then my husband invited my mother in law over.

I just drove by myself for the first time ever. I went to my last dance class, then picked up my new fancy key chain. It's a music note with my initials engraved. Swanky!
I keep dropping M&M's everywhere.

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

Mother in laws are a perfect excuse to consume a box of wine on a Thursday.

Oh Tofu- I'm so glad you're okay! But I'm not gonna lie...I laughed!
A box of wine. Classy
So I started working with a theatre coach a couple of days ago. It was interesting- she told me I remind her of Ellen Page and Christina Ricci! Never heard that before!

faith, I can think of a lot worse young actresses to be compared to! That sounds like fun. Keep us posted on how it goes!
It was also my intention to not drink much tonight, until I opened up a surprise e-mail from the current boy containing his mugshot from last night's DUI. If we all didn't know I have terrible taste in men before...it's a decent picture, at least. So now, I am curled up alone drinking copious amounts of Woodchuck and watching The Last American Virgin, bemoaning the poor choices made by myself and those around me.
