God, I'm still hung over from the wedding reception I went to last night. I decided I need a few glasses of wine to try to get over it.
I take my driving test on Tuesday. I'm not very confident about passing.
The written part or the driving part? I failed the written part the first time, but since I never read the book I wasn't surprised.
The driving part. My parents and friends are putting on a ton of pressure on me about driving them, running errands, and being a B average student so insurance won't be through the roof. My mom says that if I ever get caught driving anyone before my year is up, she'll take away my licence. It's too darn hot for me to be handling this kind of pressure from everyone. I need to get out of this town and make better friends. *headdesk*
... my parents think I'm gonna learn to drive, too. And that would be a horrible idea. I have no attention span, I'm the most accident-prone person ever (that is not an exaggeration-- I get hurt a good ten or twelve times a day), and I always write and listen to music whenever I'm in the car, so I doubt I'd be able to adjust, and I REALLY don't want to die before my eighteenth birthday. I also have no time to learn to drive! My plan is to stay in DC and take the metro my whole life.
Schmerg- love the new avatar!
Yeah I haven't learned to drive yet. I've always had friends that were older than I am and could drive me around, so it was never necessary for me to feel independent. Many of them are going to college now, though, so I need to learn! I got my permit already so I can start driving the first of November. I just need to start learning...
I'm going to crash. I went on the freeway for the second time. It was not fun. I really don't enjoy driving. I really don't see all the hooplah over it.
You do need to know how to drive though. What if you are out somewhere and someone is drunk or sick and you are the only one there to drive them home/hospital or whatever.
Hi girls!
Just checking in. My computer is still broken and I won't get it back for TWO MORE WEEKS!!! I can't stand it! What did we all DO before computers!!!
Anyway, I need to go back a few pages and see what's been going on. Thank God I can jump on here at work :)
I hate when my computer is in the shop!
I hate when my computer is in the shop!
LOL! That makes me picture my little laptop at a mechanics and there are greasy guys rolling under it on a skateboard. It's actually being taken care of by The Geek Squad..I never had a problem with them before so cross your fingers!!
Maisie, driving is very relaxing for some people. My friend drives for miles on weekends. She loves it.
UGH, you guys.
Do you remember me bitching about my unrequited love thing? Well, he's leaving the country at the end of the week and he'll be getting married in a few months, so we hung out this afternoon, and it was crazy awesome, 'cos even though I'd not seen him for ages, we just slipped into our same old friendship just as it ever was and it was so nice, and I remembered exactly why I liked him so much in the first place, and now he's LEAVING THE COUNTRY AND GETTING MARRIED and I'm like 98% certain I'm never going to love anyone else even half as much.
Wah.
And the weather in Scotland was fine. A bit sunny, a bit rainy. Mostly like England, but a bit more northern. :)
And a girl I used to work with has written a novel which is getting published next March, and apparently it's freakin' amazing, and they've already given her many many pounds to write another one! I've not seen her for ages either, but I'm still very proud. :3
I love driving too!
Weez- I'm so sorry about the unrequited love thing, that's seriously such a bad feeling. But I promise you'll love someone again and it'll be amazing! :)
And congrats to your friend. What kind of book is it?

This kind! There is nothing that is not awesome about this. It sounds like the sort of thing I'd read even if I had no idea who the author was! :)
It looks great, Weez. I'll have to put it on my list. :)
I am addicted to that damn word association game.
That book does look interesting. I wonder if we'll be able to get it here in the States?
danmag, I went through a period where I spent HOURS on the games over on the Idol boards.
Stock, speaking of books, I just saw today that John Irving has a new book coming out at the end of October!
Really? I'll have to keep an eye out for it!
This is the disaster I like to call "Having Lowlights Put in By Someone Who Has A New Baby and Doesn't Know WTF She's Doing". I have grey hair now....
Oh, I wouldn't say it looks grey... maybe not the best color for your complexion, but I've seen wayyy worse.
I've been cleaning out five huge boxes of my old writing projects, ranging from age 5 to age 16, and wow, I've found some hilarious and bizarre stuff in there. But I think my favorite thing is a "story" I began in third grade and evidently abandoned after the first sentence:
"Don't play games with me, Tzeitel!" yelled Tevye while wiping curdled milk out of his orange eyes.
Apparently, it was some screwed-up Fiddler on the Roof fanfiction. Too bad I didn't finish it, it was promising...
Danielle why did you let her do your hair? I don't think it looks gray though.
So my sister in law is moving to Florida and they are giving us about 30 plus bottles of wine and a big ass wine rack to put in the basement. Score!
