Piano, that is CREEEPAY!

Weez, if you are creeped out by Constantine, you should definitely watch this, and skip ahead to 7:00 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--qW5v9EJv0 . It's hilariously creepy! I always kind of liked him/kind of hated him simuntaneously, and I have NO IDEA WHY, which is why one of the characters from one of my stories who is totally evil but has very good intentions and thinks he's the good guy, looks exactly like COnstantine.

Luscious, I had to do extra community service hours because I didn't turn in five out-of-school hours last year that I had to do for National Honor Society! So because I didn't turn in five out-of-school hours, I had to do thirteen in-school hours before September 30. I don't understand it, either.

Pianolin,
welcome to the 'guys who attract creepy stalkers' club. happiness :D (I have attracted 2 and a half stalker girls, 2 of which I've mentioned on this thread. I think my number MIGHT jump to 3 and a half soon...)

I'm not dropping my theatre class, it'd be way too darn stubborn! (Forgive me, I was having a frustration moment). How can I say I don't like the chorus if I've never even done it? Besides, the class doesn't start till January and NOTHING has been cast, so there is still hope that I can get a role. I will totally do Musical Theatre again this year, and I'll be back with a vengeance this time around, role or no role.

So ladies (and gentleman), I just got invited to my first sweet 16!!! I have been to another one... but it wasn't that formal at all. We played quiditch and ate pizza.... classy. This party is the real deal. It's this saturday (I was invited at the last minute) and it's formal and everything. I'm excited, but I'm pretty nervous! What should I expect (I've never even watched an episode of My Super Sweet 16!)?

Jazzy, that's so fun!

We never had parties like that when I was growing up, but I'd probably expect something like a bar mitzvah or something. It sounds like you will have a blast! I love any excuse to get dressed up and dance and have fun!

And Piano, that guy sounds like a freak show.

Jazzy, all my friends had parties that involved sitting in the basement, chatting, trying to dance, eating food, and hitting obnoxiously on each other, so I wouldn't know! I went to the zoo with my friends on my sixteenth birthday! ^_^

For my daughter's 16th I took her and friends to Avenue Q. And dinner at Ellens Stardust. She loved it at the time but now she's 18 and still wishes she had a big ol Sweet 16 because the ones she went to were so fun.

What should you expect, Jazzy? A lot of food, Sweet Caroline, Candle lighting ceremony, The Time Warp... (my daughter is in the room with me rattling this off!)

I didn't do anything for my Sweet Sixteen. I totally forgot about my birthday until days before when my parents asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I wish I had asked to see a show at ACT, maybe this year.

My parents are being strange. They told me the other day "We want a picture of you", but they already have tons of picture of me. Then they told me that they were going to find my friends house before homecoming and take pictures of me, but I told them no. Now they're all mad because they want a picture of me, damnit! They already have so many pictures of me! I am least least photogenic person to ever live so I loathe picture. Argh.

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

Hmm, yeah, Jazz, I never went to any "fancy" sweet 16's lol

And yeah SAMN, you might not like it now, but if a few years you might wish you had let them take that picture.

Yeah we never had major fancy sweet 16 parties either. That actually surprises me a bit, considering where I grew up. I know that my friends threw me a surprise party for my 17th. Can't remember my 16th.

SAMN- I'm with everybody else. Just indulge them. It's sweet that they want pics of your in your homecoming dress. :) And like Piano said, a few years from now, you might be happy you let them have that. :)

I get to start teaching the bway choreography to Don't Stop Belivin' from Rock of Ages to my theatre kids today! I'm going to make little videos breaking down the steps for them since we have limited rehearsal time... I'm really excited! I know we can pull it off and the kid who is singing the lead has a killer rock voice! *happy dance* I am putting together this whole showcase in my (very limited) free time.... here's what the lineup is looking like:
- Opening from MIllie
- Hot Patotie from Rocky Horror
- Tango Maureen - Rent
- Swing Dance (either a duet or a small group)
- Opening from Grease
- Loathing from Wicked
- Don't Stop Believin'

There might be more... I will hopefully know after todays meeting!

I'm filling out an application to teach 2 spinning classes a week. Why do they need to know the elementary school I went to? I mean really?

StockardFan, I can relate to you! I sign up for things all the time and the ask the most random questions on the applications, WTF?

Clever Name,
Tell your daughter not to be embarrassed. My friends and I LOVE the Rocky Horror Picture show and we do the time warp all the time!

I'm pumped for this party. It's going to be new to me (I'm like most of you... the parties I usually go to are so silly), but that's what'll make it so much fun. I love trying new things.

SAMN,
I'm the complete opposite. I'm always begging my parents to take more pictures because they never take enough. It's better to have too many pictures than too little.

It just seems so silly that I'm listing all these jobs that I had years ago, and trying to remember how much I made and exactly when I started there and left, etc. It's alot of writing for 2 freaking classes a week.

That is strange, Stockard. I'd expect something like that for a corporate position, but it's a little excessive for a part-time thing! That would be fun, though...I hope you get it!

Kels, sounds great! I want to see pictures when you get further!

Aw, come on SAMN, it's just a photo!

I bought my homecoming dress today. It's red and kinda slinky, and it makes me look a bit like a prostitute, but whatever, I guess that's kind of the point of homecoming. Maybe I'll REALLY push it and wear long white gloves, ahahahaha! (No.)

danmag, it's two spinning classes a week. When I'm there anyway. I'll still be here and FB all day. It might end up being too complicated to get the certification anyway so it may be a moot point.

schmerg, it won't just be ONE photo. It will be millions. It will be a hundred by myself, another huindred with my date, thousands with just the girls...the madness will never end. They take their camera everywhere and take pictures nonstop then put them on their facebook. It's incredibly annoying, and for just one night, I'd like to not have my parents cling to me and scare away my friends.

Hahaha, I do know how you feel, though. One of these days, I should show you this one picture my parents took of my date and me last year. We were making 'THE SCREAM' faces and claw hands with horror at how many pictures they were taking. I look terrible in ALL of them, but they're still funny to look at. Maybe you could compromise? Say, just take pictures of you with your date and promise to give them a copy of you with the girls that someone else took or something?

Oy, there are so many other ways for them to show they love me and are proud of me (for the record, they are not), why must it be with horrible pictures?

schmerg, if that picture looks anything like the one in the upper right photo in you avatar, you most post it!

LOL!! Schmerg. you crack me up!

SAMN, all parents take pics at Homecoming. And often they all go to the house where the group is gathering and take pics. That's what is done. You need to just have fun with it!

Stockard, I'm guessing if you skip a lot of that info they will still interview you. That is odd, though. I hope you get the job!

SAMN, here's how I see it...if you're in a group, you'll be getting pictures taken by all the other parents, too. You might as well let your own get in on the action! I remember mine were out of town for junior prom or something like that, and I was thrilled that they wouldn't be there to take pictures...but my friend's mom did instead, and they still got back to my 'rents. It's unavoidable, and pretty harmless. happiness :D
