I hear you ladies! I finally got a txt from my so-called best boy and he was all like "hey, I know we really need to talk. How are you?" and I wrote back and told him that I had been better.... and I got no response! Grrrrr.... men.

Oooh ooohhh...I'll jump on the "I'm over men" bandwagon. It's partially my fault for putting up with waayyyy too much with the guy, but I'm quickly running out of patience.

In other news, I pray that Chicago doesn't get the Olympics. The public transportation system is already overloaded. I had to let 2 trains pass me last night before I could even get onto one.

So, I guess while we're talking about dudes... I don't know if I mentioned this, but I'm not going to homecoming with my friend who I went with the last two years. I kind of was expecting to, but his homecoming is this weekend, and since I haven't been asked (and forms had to be turned in yesterday), looks like I'm not going.

This shouldn't upset me too much, but it kind of does just a little bit, because even though I'd never want to actually date this friend, I have liked him a lot since eighth grade. It's not like we're not friends anymore or anything-- we just talked yesterday. It may be that he's not going to the dance, because his friend just died over the weekend and he's really sad, but I have a feeling that he just found someone else willing to go with him. I'm not really sad, just a little bit.

I'm asking another friend of mine tonight... let's see if he wants to go.

JAG - by saying you wish sexuality were a choice, I reckon you're halfway there. And I'm fed up enough of men myself to be your English girlfriend if you want. ;D Seriously, how can one gender be so rubbish on such a regular basis? On what planet is that fair?!

Schmerg, I'm sorry! I'd be willing to bet that he doesn't want to go to the dance at all, and that it's not anything to do with another girl or you. I really hope your other friend says yes!

Weez, I could totally try the long-distance thing. Even male animals suck; my hamster is currently running around on my bedroom floor, taking multiple sh*ts wherever he goes. I suppose, metaphorically, that's what men do...just sh*t on everything. All the time.

Our cheerleaders aren't very good this year. happiness :D They just kind of twirl around and yell "SPARTS!" Except for the boy. He just claps and smiles.

It's just that I don't want my parents at my friends house in front of everyone. I wouldn't mind them getting copies from someone else. I just don't want them near us. I feel sorry for my date.

schmergie, I'd take you to homecoming, but I am miles away.

And speaking of stupid guys, I was talking to the guy who got that girl pregnant and he kept saying things one should not be saying to another girl when you're in a relationship, so I told him it was disrespectful to his girlfriend and that he should stop. Of course, he flips out and says that he still loves me and how I never loved him. He's more overdramatic than me! I asked him what he would have done in my position, and he said that his feelings wouldn't change. When he finally calmed down, I started telling him about how excited I was for homecoming and he went silent, then didn't really respond. He tells me this morning "Well, just so you know, I'm jealous of your boyfriend. I think it's normal, though you'll probably find it stupid or weird. But telling you will help me."
What?! Since when was my date my "boyfriend"?

The only good thing that happened today was that a girl dropped out of the play, so along with my singing role, I get the role of Sexton! :) It feels nice to know that I'm the first person my director comes to when he needs a role covered.

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

There was only one boy when I was there too but it can't be the same guy because I've been gone from there for 7 years. Unless he's really dumb.

The last year I coached was the first year we made it to States. I decided it was time to quit on a high note since I knew I was moving up here anyway.

SAMN, WTF? I'm amazed that guy managed to impregnate anyone, being such a whiny, overly dramatic little girl. I'm sorry he's bothering you.

Congrats on Sexton, though! That shows the director has a real trust in you. happiness :D

Ew, SAMN, at least you got rid of that loser! And it's great about the play.

Well, I got me a date for homecoming! Just as friends, of course, but it's a nice way to come full-circle, because this guy has been one of my best friends since first grade, and we're kind of going along with two of our other best friends (who are going together). It's kinda a nice way to say goodbye before we all go to college and go our separate ways. ^_^

Hmmm...since I seem to be missing all the good stuff lemme get this straight (well as straight as I can get)...most of you are sick of the "Men Folk" so you're just gonna encroach on my Lady Lovin' turf?! What the frikkin' frak people?! I mean hop the fence if you want don't let me stop you, but I refuse to be your Homo-Yoda and teach you how to avoid a woman when she hasn't had her Snickers bar during her TOM. Or how to deal with crazy chicks at the bar when they've only had half a shot of cheap Vodka. Although I may reconsider being your instructor if you post pictures of scantily clad brunettes and redheads, but hey whatever.

And Weez, I must say I'm slightly hurt happiness :D. What about "us"? You know how I feel about accents and glasses dammit, plus I'm guessing you guzzle obscene amounts of tea daily while reading 2,000 page epics. A match made in make believe "lesbian seducing a straight girl" heaven. *sigh*

Eh. I'm sick of my husband's snoring, so I'm pretty much ready to roll either way. As long as whoever it is is a quiet sleeper. Is that so damn much to ask. Sheesh.

Tofu!! You'll still be my Homo-Yoda though right?? Haha...I seriously do need your help, even though my freakouts have generally slowed down. :) Hahaha. I was gonna say to you all, yeah...so far I'm finding girls to be way easier. However, mine isn't even in this country and our relationship is completely based on internet chatting and emails. Haha...so we'll see what I have to say about that when she gets back from war.

Schmerg- I'm glad you found a date!! That should be fun.

SAMN- Congrats on Sexton!!

Awww, tofu! Does it make me a slut if I offer to be everyone's long-distance English girlfriend? I don't mind, I might fit in better if I do. Sometimes some of you girls make me feel purer than Maisie and Schmerg all rolled into one! :P

I'm glad I read the rest of the thread before opening those links. I don't think I'm going to now! But thanks for the reminder I was planning on reading a ton of Guardian articles this evening. ^_^

Okay, so I might've mentioned that this year, I'm in Madrigals at my school, but I've been in intermediate ladies' choir every other year-- I never attempted to audition for Madrigals before, because I was pretty much 100% sure that I wouldn't get in. So I am VERY intimidated by all of the brilliantly talented kids in my chorus who have been in Mads for several years, and I'm kind of shy around them.

So... today, my chorus teacher told me that I had the highest score out of anybody in the Madrigals AND Musical Theatre auditions at the end of last year. 0_0

I never, ever would have expected that. I am so in awe of the wonderful voices in my chorus class, and I've always felt that I BARELY got into the chorus, and even then only because I like the teacher and am always nice to her, while most of the kids are really rude to her. I feel RIDICULOUSLY HAPPY!
