Remember Behind The Music on VH1? The Pepper's episode was one of the best ones I have ever seen. I wish they would play those again.

OK ladies. I think I have a fun night on tap. It's my girlfriend's 45th b-day so she has a limo picking us up (I think there are 10 or 12 of us) and going to this restaurant in Philly called Yakitori Boy. We have our own private room and it's sushi, drinking and karaoke for 3 hours.
I just hope I am NOT the one who passes out/throws up in the limo. I'm guessing it will be my neighbor Cathy....

Good afternoon y'all!
"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

Great stories here today!!!!!
I'm still recovering from yesterday - a girlfriend played hooky (or is it hookie?) from work yesterday and crashed my private pool party - so we broke out the Pina Coladas, Vodka & Tonics and Wacky Tobaccy.
Gosh, I love summer!!!!

Sounds like quite the party, Hells! Wish I was there.
My god. I have to buy the Chess Concert recording. I cannot live without it. I am obsessed.

Hi all.
I'm crazy swamped at work (ack!) but just wanted to say hello.
I was in Vegas last weeekend..it was fun, but I was sick the whole time so it took a little of the enjoyment out of it. But I still managed to have fun. Lost about $25...not bad.
I missed a lot of chat here but just wanted to wish you all a happy weekend. After hail/thunderstorms today, it's supposed to be a gorgeous day tomorrow.

Maisie, my brothers strategy used to be to register for 18 and if he hated one of the prof's or decided the class was going to be too tough with that full of a load he would drop that one. He called it his throw-away plan.

Maisie, you're a better woman than me, I applaud you and your 18 credits. At best I'd only take 12-16 credits per semester if there was an especially interesting writing/literature class that I was dying to take. 18 credits would have killed me with the workload.

Ugh, I am finally back. What an EXHAUSTING day! Ok, so we had to get up at 6:30 and leave at 7 because the funeral was 2 hours away and all. So the service was at 10 with a viewing at 9. Then, the actual gravesite part wasn't until 2, and that was 30 minutes away. It was SO hot outside and I was in my suit... It was weird because it was my Great Aunt and even though she could be cruel sometimes, she meant well, and I was really sad to see her go, but her children barely cried and it was very odd because they were mechanical about everything and this isn't some sort of thing where they are just "shocked" they really have never cared about their mother as much as a child should (IMO). Anyway, it was over but it was nice to see everyone, but not under such awful circumstances.
Then we came back home and changed clothes and went out to dinner with my uncles. Well, it was 8 of us and I was NOT going to sit outside... there was a "party" with 20+ ghetto people walking in and out of the patio area and of course, we got put outside. I was hungry, it was hot, it was loud.. very miserable. Then, my mom decides we will get ice cream and a movie on our way home. I asked if we could get a comedy (I mean, we all had a rough day...) she said "Of course!" Well, my uncle and dad refused to let me help pick and they got a drama... even after my mom said comedy. So, I am not watching it. I am so exhausted. I hope everyone had a good day!

Sounds eventful, piano. Sorry you had a crummy day.
I woke up at 11:30am, came on here, showered, walked to a store to get my friend a birthday present, walked home, walked to the library, walked home, ate dinner, and now I'm back here. Not very exciting.
