Eeek! What have I gotten myself into??? At least Gollum Flynn-Boyle is better than when Ellie would torture me with Celine pix (love ya, Ellie, wherever you are!). You need to have Pat work some magic and come up with some superimposed picture with Jailbait Harry and Gollum Flynn-Boyle! Now that would be disturbing. *shudder*

Okay, just to be clear, I find him CUTE. I wouldn't want to sleep with him. I nearly covered my eyes when I saw GOF because I went, "I can't! Look! At! Harry Potter! This! Way!" But he's so adorable.

Pretty much yes.

The third and fourth movies have been FAR better than the first and second (to me at least)
not even in the same league.

No wonder you hated the movies! The first two are nearly unwatchable! (Aside from Jason as Lucius in HP2.)

I know, I know. I wasn't on the HP bandwagon when they first came out, then once it was up to books 3 or 4 (having seen and not been overly impressed with the first two movies) I wasn't particularly motivated to get out there and delve into those massive tomes! One of these days, I'll get around to it. Promise!

I'm ignoring you until you've at least PICKED UP the first one. Trust me - they're so much better than the movies.

(And this is coming from someone who liked the LOTR movies but hated the books. So I swear I'm not a nerd, and I don't like fantasy books. But these are on a whole other level.)

The movies do no service to the books at all!
I did not get into it to start either, but the books are SO much better that is totally the way to go. The huge ones are not long enough (well 5 is in, but 4 and 6 could go on)

Totally. I hope HP7 is just as big as 5. (Not because I want it to be verbose, but because I don't want it to end!)

And I'm someone who joined the HP bandwagon late too (I think just shortly after HP4 was released) - I resisted because I normally don't go along with hyped up things. But really, I'm so glad I did. The books are cleverly written, have multi-dimensional, endearing, and relatable characters, and are full of suspense and heart.

Okay, FINE, I won't ignore you. But pick up the first one this month! It's available in paperback and I'm sure it's readily available at the library. It's such a page-turner. You can get through the first one EASILY in a day.
