They were still carrying their ACLU cards?
And the answer to the rock riddle was that the rock was Kryptonite and the man was Clark Kent.

Posted: 7/4/06 at 2:57pmThe answer I found to Jason's marble riddle was slightly different. It was this: The suitor chooses a marble and then swallows it without allowing anyone to see it. He then shows everyone the marble that's left, which has to be black. That would mean that, if the king were honest, the suitor swallowed (and chose) the white marble. So the king has to let him marry the princess. This is basically just more specific than the answer that he concealed the marble, and ensures that no one can see the color of the marble he picked. So jam_man, that's what the marble thing had to do with using the toilet!

Posted: 7/4/06 at 5:33pmThe Adam and Eve one, is that a biblical reference, or is it scientific in the sense that we presume all naturally born humans have belly buttons? (Sorry, I have Song of Solomon on the brain, and when you have several 40 minute discussions in class about belly buttons, it sort of sticks to you.)

Posted: 7/4/06 at 5:39pmThank you for the rock answer. I think.
#86re: IQ Test....
Posted: 7/4/06 at 7:48pmI still don't get the rock answer.
#87re: IQ Test....
Posted: 7/4/06 at 7:53pmWell the rock is the cause of the man's death, except the rock did not cause any direct physical damage to the the man. (Hence no bruises, etc.) But since Superman (Kal-El!) "is most vulnerable to kryptonite, debris from Krypton transformed into radioactive material by the forces that destroyed the planet. Exposure to kryptonite radiation nullifies Superman's powers and immobilizes him with pain. Prolonged exposure can eventually kill him." (from wikipedia)...he dies...yay! And you have your little scenario!

Marlene, it was just a riddle. But if you think about it, according to the Bible, Adam and Eve were "created" and not "born," therefore they would have no need for an umbilical cord. When the cord is severed after birth, it produces a belly button. So to answer your question, it is more of a scientific reference although Adam and Eve's navels (or lack thereof) have been a source of debate for many centuries.

I have one.
A man walks into a house.
He goes up stairs and turns on the radio.
He turns off the radio and turns on the light.
He goes downstairs to a drawer.
He pulls out a gun and shoots himself.
Explain.

Posted: 7/5/06 at 11:03amHe turns on the radio and hears a news report that an escaped killer is on the loose. He turns on the light and sees his wife and children brutally murdered, their bodies stacked on the bed. In his grief, he commits suicide.

Posted: 7/5/06 at 11:40amInteresting and valid scenario but still wrong. It has more to do with the "house".

It's a haunted house and they're all animatrons, so you just hear the gunshot and it's supposed to scare you?
EDIT: Or even better - the radio was asking the rock question and the man couldn't get it, so he shoots himself from frustration!
