Illene Woods, who voiced Cinderella in the 1950 movie of the same name, sadly passed away on Thursday. She died of causes related to Alzheimer's disease at a nursing home in Canoga Park. Although I'm not a huge fan of "Walt Disney's Cinderella" I'm saddened she passed away because I loved her voice in the movie. RIP!

This means that Mary Costa, who voiced Princess Aurora in "Sleeping Beauty," is the only one of the three actresses, who voiced the original three Disney Princesses who is still alive.

RIP. My favorite Disney princess

So so sad. She left behind quite a legacy though, something for her and all her family to be proud of forever.

She basically sumed it up in an interview back in 2006: "Oh, I love the idea that after I'm gone, children will still be hearing my voice." Quoted from the LA Times an article about her passing. So she's not gone forever.

I heard about this earlier. It's so sad. She's my top favorite Disney heroine.
Her voice had a really nice fairy tale quality and sophistication to it. I'm sure it will last forever.
She had such a lovely voice. (Of course, anything is better than Snow White! lol)
I thought it was a nice change of pace for Disney to steer away from the high sopranos and have Cinderella speak and sing in a lower alto register, like most of the big band singers of the day. She did sound more sophisticated, warm, and surprisingly mature for an 18-year-old.
I love her scenes with Eleanor Audley, who voiced the stepmother. Wonderful stuff.
She will be remembered through this movie for ages to come.

This statue sits on a console table in our foyer next to a clock permanently set to 12:03, so that she can dance with her prince forever. And she will, in my heart.
RIP

Q, I love that. That is just so imaginative. That statue is beautiful.
Ilene Woods is interviewed extensively on the last 2 Disc Special Edition of Cinderella that was released on Disney DVD. She was still so beautiful...and that voice!
Mary Costa is another one of my favorites.
Ilene lives on eternally through this timeless movie.
