Absolutely. Is any even going to charity this time? It is absolutely absurd to charge a mortgage payment to see a concert or a play-ANY concert I might add. Having such high prices does 2 things- 1.Allows only the HAVES to get decent seats or even afford the show at all. 2. Puts true fans with limited income in hock as they use credit cards, etc to finance a golden opportunity to see a legendary vocalist. I do not disagree that Babs is a legend, but the prices are insane.

I love her work, but those ticket prices are out of control. I think it's ridiculous to charge that much.

I do hope they toss her out. $200 for the cheap seats and then they don't even put them on sale on the internet with everything else. Those prices are a load of self-indulgent crap. Especially considering her last few albums have been a snooze fest. She's not worth it and she doesn't need the money.

Anything over 100-125 dollars to see a concert is robbery. I don't care how elaborate the staging. Even Madge is pushing the envelope with 300 dollar tickets.

I love me some Stevie Nicks-she is divine, but to pay 300 dollars to see her in Vegas was a joke. She tours with a bare bones band with some light effects. Am I paying for shawls and orthopedic platform boots?

All of this is getting old quick. "Classic" artists are putting their prices through the roof and they are resting on their laurels. I wanted to go see HEART, but they want a 100 bucks. Again, I love them and think they are fierce but they havent done anything noteworthy in a long time and are milking hardcore fans. It's gross.

IMO the new Barbra live CD isn't very good, especially when compared to the vibrant "The Concert" CD from the 90s. Il Divo manages to destroy every song they sing with her on the new disc. She was wise to choose our Bway studs to tour with this time around.

I read somewhere before her latest farewell tour that "I had the urge to donate more." What a poor excuse. I mean, only like 20% went to charity and she pocketed the rest. Even in interviews, Barbra comes off as quite arrogant.

My friend worked at our local amphitheater years ago, and Barbra did a concert there ... supposedly, she can come off as a super b**ch.

Barbra has never done a concert at an ampitheatre before..... So, whatever your friend told you, was wrong.

I've worked with Barbra several times, and never once was she....what "everyone" says she is....difficult, a biatch, rude, etc.. She's a perfectionist and knows what she wants. If Barbra were a man, we wouldn't even be having this conversation. For some reason, when it's a woman...she's a bitch. But, a man is assertive. That whole "double standards" thing is so frustrating.

The cliche of "if she were a man. . ." is bullsh*t. The bottom line is that she is not living in the real world. She has been famous and rich for 40 years and is totally aloof from reality. She is Edie Beale with success. :)

Her management does not have the guts to tell her she is wrong and SONY must be sh*tting a brick that her double CD is tanking.

Unless she were giving 100% of the ticket prices to charity, I think the shows should be cancelled.

What a shame.

She can charge whatever the hell she wants for her tickets. Who the hell are any of you to say it's too much? It's not like it's a wonder drug, it's a damn concert-- no one needs to go.

And for the record I can't stand her. I'd never go to her concerts and have never bought one of her CDs.

That would be like me saying, "I can't stand you!" How can anyone, honestly say that, when you've never met the person??

And, if her double cd doesn't sell as well as expected...so what? Who cares? Not every artist's cd goes to number 1 and stays there forever. She has 2 Oscars, 8 Grammys, a Tony, 5 or 6 Emmys and over 10 Golden Globes. She's doing something right.

I've never met George Bush, so I could never really say if I liked him or not. Do I agree with the war...no. I don't like the things that he has done. But, I've never met him personally. So, how can I say that I don't like him. I'm sure he's a very nice man. After all, he's married and has 2 girls, who love him.

Gosh, can you imagine going to the theatre for $9.50? These days that barely covers the service charges.

I'll be seeing Barbra in London for 2 of her concerts in July.

lol... so that makes him a nice man? Anyways, she has the right to charge whatever she wants. It's her concert. I wouldn't dish out that money but if people are willing to then there is no reason her concert should be cancelled.
