Not to get all serious here, but she'd hardly be the first^* girl to sleep with a guy who had previously date raped her.

*That is of course assuming that what Bristol Palin says is true, which I really don't believe for a second. And I feel bad saying I don't believe that someone was date raped, but let's face it, we're talking the Palins here.

I think it was Andrew Sullivan who recently pointed out the quickness of the Palin clan to paint their enemies as sexually frustrated deviants.

In Palin-speak:

That dude who moved next door to write his book: Creepy stalker who was after the girls
David Letterman: Creepy old man who wanted to sleep with the younger Palin girl, Mulberry or whichever stupid-named one she was
A rival back in her days in Alaska politics: Creep who couldn't be trusted alone with the Palin daughters

Oh...I agree that she would not be the first. But the whole pr blitz (we're engaged, we're broken up, we're engaged again, oops!) that preceded this untrue revelation makes it all the more troubling. Yes, sh*t is complex and people make weird, bad decisions all the time. But when you are choosing to present yourself as a role model of any sort, shouldn't the biography of said role model conform to some sense of an ideal one would want to model themselves after?

This is just bizarre, sordid and astounding.

The Daily Beast gives you the run down of all the "Juicy Bits" from the Palin Memoir including Bristol's recommittment to her virginity after the drunk-in-a-tent de-virginization, her need to sexually satisfy Levi so he would not cheat, her re-recommittment to her virginity when she and Levi split and the fact that she was on Birth Control (FOR CRAMPS) when Levi managed to put one in the net.

Oh yeah, Levi knocked up another girl while BP was keeping him satisfied, anyway.
