I'm watching the pilot of Fox's new cartoon "Sit Down, Shut Up" and it's completely stupid. its completely infantile and petty. She voices some hippie teacher.
I was wondering what this show was. I just have it on in the background right now, and its quite strange...
lots of good voices! show is weird...

thank god it was only a half hour. that was painful.
Hulu ran endless trailers for the show. It looked terrible.

I give it 3 weeks.

Poor girl. At least Pushing Daises was quality stuff, even if it didn't last.
Well, she has an actual live-action show premiering either in the Fall or the Spring (if it got picked up). She's determined to be in a hit TV show, good for her.
I was kind of shocked to see her name attached to such a ridiculous piece of trash. However, I'm glad to hear she's going to have another show.

Why? She did Bewitched, RV, and Deck the Halls. Clearly, she'll sign her name to any piece of trash that'll take her.
It's basically a waste of her talent, as with any of those other vehicles.
In this case, it was more of a shock because she was in a brilliant program like Pushing Daisies ...

It's not exactly like she signed her name to "trash." This show is written an created by the guy who created the critically aclaimed Arrested Development. It also has a great cast (the only good thing about this pilot) with names like Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Cheri Oteri, Kennan Thompson and Henry Winkler.
So, on paper, this show isn't sucky. Too bad about the execution.
Let's hope that the show gets better after the pilot like the Boston Herald reviewer says it does. http://www.bostonherald.com/entertainment/television/reviews/view/2009_04_19_Arresting_sitcom_will_force_you_to_?Sit_Down__and_watch/srvc=home&position=also
I agree with mauri. She needs to fire her agent.
And come back to theater.
All-star voice casts do not a hit show make. (yeah, I'm going there again)
This show sucked. Even my kids thought it was lame.

I disagree with Taz- she needs to SHOOT her agent.

That's clear to you, is it?
How DARE she try to earn a living in the industry with what she has available to her! I mean, HONESTLY, she obviously has ANY project available to her that she would desire.

Yep, when I think of actors who have the power to create/choose their work with impunity in television, I think...Kristin Chenoweth.
Chenoweth is a high-powered person on Broadway. In Hollywood she's a mid-level (status-wise) character actress at best. I wish she'd get another Pushing Daisies, but there aren't a lot of Pushing Daisies out there, and those few that come along aren't necessarily going to be offered to her rather than the many other mid-level character actresses out there. She's taken what she could get, and you know what? Considering the fact that she got an Emmy nomination for PD, she could be doing far worse the career management arena.
She also got cast in the next David E. Kelley series, and while I think his shows are a load of crap, they have status.

Well, she does wind up in a disproportionate amount of celluloid crap. I think Mauri was probably speaking in hyperbole, anyway.
there just are not that many vehicles for a helium voiced blonde bobble-head.
i tend to think that pd was the exception that proves the rule that her management blows even though that show sucked harder than shayna knight at the avn awards afterparty.

Geez. I didn't know we were all so serious about Cheno's Hollywood career. All I know is that if I had her talent, I think I would make very different choices. But she certainly has the right to make any movie or television show (stinkeroo or otherwise) that will cast her.
Of course, if I ever found my way onto a Broadway stage, they'd never be able to get me off.

Huh. This is the first time I've heard of the show.

I dunno. How hard is to not do crap? Is she broke? Can't she do a few Law & Order gigs? Do Letterman a couple times a year? Hell if someone offered me a million dollars to do RV or $150,000 to do ten weeks back in Wicked instead, I know which I'd pick.

I actually kinda liked it the show.
How does voicing one character on this cartoon make it HER SHOW? She likes to work in a lot of different media and the money's good, so why not?

"How hard is to not do crap?"
I'm sorry, but this makes me giggle. When I look at the overall output of the industry, I don't get a sense of an overwhelming abundance of 'quality' material. In fact, I see the opposite.
That being the case, and with so many people trying to get the few jobs there are - nevermind the supposed quality level - how can you hold someone accountable for taking the work that presents itself?
