I don't really post here anymore. However, the other night I asked for some guidance regarding Chicago, and Addy was kind enough to send me a PM telling me about Iflit and the heartfelt support that her many, many fans are extending to her through this latest life challenge.

I started looking at threads. I found the earlier thread (hence, my new avatar) as well as this one. I read about Phyllis. Double whammy! Two of the most wonderful, loving and ORIGINAL people on this board, both of whom I am blessed to call "friends."

Well, Phyl, I guess I know how the biopsy went! Since I missed you AGAIN last week when I was in Chi-town, I will HAVE TO pay my new fave city another visit soon. (I promised a certain little "Phyllis in the Making" a trip to Chicago for his 9th birthday, so get those Barbies out!)

And Iflit, I expect you to hammer this menacing opponent in less than 3 rounds! Understand? If you can muster up half the strength you give to other people when they need it, you'll be swell; you'll be great. You'll be the DIVA WARRIOR we all know you are!!!

So, look, you two, I do not want to hear any more of your feeble excuses for missing FOLLIES in DC this spring, ok? I know the House has gone right, but it's FOLLIES for Chrissake. Make the sacrifice already!

One year ago my sweet brother, Charlie, passed away. Very shortly before his passing my incredible dad went ahead to be there to greet him.

Some of the my best friends here on this board were there every step of the way and I can never thank them enough.

I am so glad this thread is here to remind us of what a cyber-community can be... unbelievable support from those we met through silly names and a commitment to the arts, and yet so much more. SO MUCH MORE.

Peace to my dear brother and dad, I miss you more than I can express. To my dad, I say, wait until next year. And to my bro, the circle will NEVER be unbroken...

To my friends here I offer my tits, liver, lungs and balls. Hell, I will even throw in my dick for any brave soul who would have it. Seriously, Paxton, I don't get that much use out of it anyway, and it is pretty clean, so PM me and it is yours...

Sickness will surely take the mind
Where minds can't usually go.
Come on the amazing journey
And learn all you should know.

My thoughts are with you ALL on this "amazing journey".

A friend of my parents could use some positive thoughts right now. I don't know her very well, except I did have her son in a Sunday school class I assisted for a short time. She is fighting a 2nd battle with breast cancer. She had been in remission for 15 years.

And just thinking about my grandfather who died from bone cancer 8 years ago.

Marianne, sorry to hear about your grandfather. I lost mine to cancer many moons ago. Here's hoping your friend will have as speedy a revcoery as possible. Cancer effing blows, yo.

As always, thanks for the kind words. I packed up and left Chicago yesterday to spend the duration of treatment at my mother's. I try not think about being a 36 year old man living with his mother, but what can you do? This is a good place to have my treatment, as my siblings are also nearby, as well as all the friends I left when I moved to Chicago four years ago.

And I LOVE LuPWNing cancer! It will probably just be my mantra on here, as it would take way too long to explain it to the "normal" folks. :)

I meet with my new oncologist this week (one of Lance Armstrong's former doctors, thank you very much) so it's just a matter of time before I begin the first round of chemo. Having had chemo before, I'm not looking forward to it, but hopefully it will start as soon as possible so it can be OVER as soon as possible.

Oh wow, much strength and love to those going through a hard time. NYadgal, it is just by chance that I happened to skim and see your post. Thanks so much for remembering my friend from iflit's thread. She is having her surgery tomorrow. I may try and head over to her house for a game of scrabble to keep her mind off of things - that's pretty much her favorite thing to do.

I haven't been around here much this past month b/c I have been dealing with my own loss. But I wanted to echo Sueleen's sentiment of appreciation for all my cyber-friends who have been so supportive.

And I'm sending my very strongest Tazberations to Iflit and PRS. Your senses of humor is amazing and a testament to what awesome people you both are.
