I couldn't get through it. After 10 minutes I switched to catch up on Modern Family.

If those were the fun gays, I'd much rather hang out with the depressed, sad gays.
Good CHRIST.
I think, though I'm not sure, that was meant to be the point...
Ha Random Straight Asian Friend's comment "Isn't that just so you can **** all the time?" and the reply seemed right out of a PSA.
As for Patrick's meltdown--on one level it seemed completely in character. He'd probably wanted to say all of those things for ages and when drunk allowed himself to do so (I mean he seemed to sober up pretty quickly after, but of course that always happens on TV so doesn't necessarily show how drunk he was I guess.) And I admit, a few times I threw parties where I wanted everyone to have fun, and they did but I was so anxious I didn't, and sure maybe a guy I liked or had been with would show up and make out with someone else, and I'd drink way too much and... Well I might say something snipey, I'd never make a big speech. More likely I'd pass out or end up with some friend in some room hiding and crying and wishing everyone would leave. I realized I didn't like throwing big parties. Oh, and I was probably 20-21 at the time. Not 30....................... So.....

You work sooooooooo hard on these things.
In that instance I actually was trying to be sarcastic, because it pissed me off. I know with me and Looking it can be hard to tell :P At least nobody did that other thing I hate where a very drunk person is forced to drink a cup of coffee and is then fine. Updated On: 2/25/15 at 01:52 AM
I had to pause this one a couple of times. I can do blood and gore, but the cringe'y very public meltdown is so awkward. Only up from here, Patrick. Yikes.
Not a great ep, but almost worth it to see Dom in his He-Man harness. I want a "Dom at The Eagle" episode.
Me too. I do admit that I think Dom needs some sort of story progress (yes, I know he recently ditched Lynn, but throwing in a few comments a week about kickstarting his chicken window is not doing it...)

I think a big problem with Patrick's meltdown, as expertly written and performed as it was, is that it just seemed to come out of nowhere -- if it was the climax of an hour-long episode it might have felt better prepared for. Maybe if the whole season was watched back to back...
My last relationship was Patrick and Kevin's relationship. I was Patrick, he was Kevin. The only difference is that I'm not as dim as Patrick and instead of a public meltdown, I imploded and then wrote a play about it.
I don't like Richie. I love Raul, and I think he does everything right and I get the significance of the character, I just don't like him.
I want more Dom. In my life and on the show. I want a Dom at my doorstep, without the He-Man wig.
I'm enjoying Augustin and Eddie, but if their relationship turns into Eddie completely avoiding any sort of intimacy over "I'm sick and you're not and you don't understand because you're not sick", I'll be very disappointed. Or maybe he's playing reverse psychology to open Augustin up in ways he wouldn't otherwise do...I don't know. Sassy bear boys frustrate me.
I want the Ginger boy to wear that Wild Things costume all. the. time. Please and thank you.
I find Patrick's meltdown cringe-y because it's like a worst-case-scenario fully visualized and realized all in one fell swoop.
I fastened my seatbelt for Patrick's meltdown, but it wasn't really that bumpy a night. It wasn't even epic. It was kind of pathetic.
But the scene at the end, when he was lying in Dom's arms, was worth watching the whole series for.
I would have liked the speech better had he actually finished and outted Kevin's affair in front of John. He nearly did and it makes John look a bit dim for not asking Kevin what that comment was about, but Kevin makes it seem as though John would be completely blindsided and destroyed by the affair so perhaps it's the last thing on his mind? Regardless, the speech would have had more of an impact for me had he finished it.
Okay...I gave it another go 'round and boy was that one painful watch.
Patrick's "meltdown" was really just a drunken hissy-fit.
They need to give Dom a story line front and center. I relate to him more than I do any of the other characters on the show.
I'm over Patrick, Richie, Kevin, his boyfriend and the ginger queer.
I'm warming up to Augustin and Eddie.

I agree with this. I mean they did cut to him, a bit too obviously perhaps, constantly downing drinks, but... Looking likes to play everything so low key, that when they do have a big melodramatic moment it can feel a bit forced--and 15 mins isn't much build up.

I dunno. I wondered why his friends didn't drag his ass down earlier anyway--I think if they had let him go through with where they knew he was heading it would have gone a bit too Melrose. As PalJoey implied, I don't think they were going for an epic soap meltdown (this was not Erica Kane reaming out Pine Valley while high on pain killers,) but for a pathetic vibe. Obviously not the time or place, but he kinda has a point re Augustin (and of course would never say it when sober--) the guy is doing so much better, everyone comments on it, yet he barely acknowledged what a jerk he was or thanked others for literally picking him off the street and still doesn't seem concerned about paying rent.
I agree with PJ as well that the end scene with Dom was well done (especially since sometimes on this show I sorta wonder how connected the three friends really are--episodes are so short that we barely see them interact anymore,) and also liked the pathetic/sad smile to Richie who can't help smiling back but still goes off to dance with the Ginger "I'm a real journalist because my PrEP post went viral" dude.
This is the first time we saw much of John and his beer shirt and jester hat seemed to be going with his "I'm just here to have a good time," vibe. At the end it seemed clear he knew what was going on.
Broomstick, I want to read your Kevin play!

I think we're all in agreement: Eddie should get his own series, with Dom as his best friend.
Someone made a tumblr for Dom's Juicy Chicken Window:

Daniel Franseze (sp?) who plays Eddie said in a recent interview that he's the only POZ character on American TV this season (and there were none last year...) I dunno why I was surprised by that.

Ummm... that is not what Peri Peri Chicken looks like. Dammit. Now I'm craving Roscoe's. And Dom.
Lee Daniels needs to take over this show and give it life. I can't invest anymore time on the sissy man/child (Patrick) and chicken windows.
I mean really...
LOL But they're completely different styles of shows. I'd be all for Lee doing a full on gay soap on cable, however.

The Lee Daniels version of LOOKING was the Showtime version of QUEER AS FOLK -- initally interesting but ultimately just cheesy.
LOOKING-wise, I was interested in Kevin's partner John and his reaction to the meltdown. Did he not get the allegation that Patrick was making about an affair with Kevin? He seemed perfectly okay with Kevin after the fact in that little scene on the stoop, where he's offering to get some karaoke going. It's Kevin who puts a stop to the whole thing by petulantly demanding to be taken home, resulting in Patrick's "have fun in Seattle" remark, which John clearly doesn't understand.
Somehow I got the impression that John wasn't bothered by Kevin's having gotten some on the side with Patrick, his friendliness toward Patrick even seemed almost flirtatious, as if he wouldn't have minded joining in the fun. It was the Seattle remark that seemed to put a crimp in things where John was concerned, interestingly.
It's Kevin I'm finding more problematic as the series progresses. His behavior is really unforgivable -- stringing Patrick along with promises that he'll break up with John, it's also clear that John is absolutely clueless about Kevin's alleged unhappiness in the relationship so Kevin's clearly not being forthcoming with him about anything.
Chalk it down to horrible, horrible writing.
I would have expected John to question Kevin about Patrick's allegations during his sissy fit. But no, none was forthcoming and it was truly WTF is up with this.
I flat out REFUSE to feel sorry for Patrick. He needs to grow the **** up real fast - - - he can't have Kevin - but he knew the chances he was taking when he got involved - and I'm not excusing Kevin's behavior because it takes two to tango - but Patrick knew he was taking a chance. Then when he realizes Kevin isn't emotionally available to him he tries to run back to Richie.
Bad news - Richie is now involved with someone and no longer interested. Patrick is now playing "the victim". It's pathetic is what it is. What did he really expect? Did he expect Richie to put his life on hold for him?
Ugh. MAN UP Patrick - grow some f*cking balls.
They should just go ahead and rename this show "DIARY OF A SISSY-BOY"
