I'm in the middle of the hot tub scene now!

"Oh, and, are we to assume Dom once escorted given his exchange with Doris re: funding a film about a young rentboy and his "fag hag"? "
I actually read that as an in joke to co-creator Haigh's pre-Weekend debut, the kinda self indulgent, "scripted" documentary Greek Pete.
I find it puzzling that Don all of a sudden wants a commitment from Quantum Leap, but Quantum was honest on where he stood with their relationship. If he was so interested in a committed relationship with Quantum Leap then why **** around with someone else in front of him in his hot tub and then suggest to invite the guy over and on top of that act like the rejected victim?
Really?
...and Patrick, poor Patrick but honey grow up...the guy is emotionally unavailable to you and you knew the deal when you decided to get involved with him...and then he acts like the rejected "victim"...
Really?

and in the preview for the next episode Patrick is going to try to get back with Richie on the rebound? What a fvcked up-it's all about me-sh!tty ass thing to do.
I hope Richie doesn't fall for that bullsh!t.

Richie doesn't seem interested in Patrick any more, with good reason, which makes me wonder what they're going to do with the character -- is he just going to pop up in every other episode and dispense tough wisdom as in "You're a home-wrecker now, Patrick?"
So Dom and Patrick both found out that the men in their lives aren't as available/willing as they passed themselves off as being. Dom's relationship with Lynn always felt rather sketched it -- if Lynn can say that he never lied to Dom, it also feels like Dom never got around to asking, until this episode, exactly where things stand and what they mean to each other. I did like that super-hunk Dom found himself on the receiving end of a speech he's doubtless made before, and Mr. Bartlett's palpable misery afterward was very nicely handled.
And poor boobish Patrick, well. I hope he's got his resume ready.
I don't feel bad about Patrick. He's a man, he knew from the get-go what he was getting into and not only with someone who was in a committed relationship but someone who happens to be HIS BOSS.
Rule #1: Dont fvck someone else's man...
Rule #2: Don't sh!t where you eat...
This season is just dragging for me. I keep watching and hoping it will get better (like i did with AHS: Freak Show- and didn't) but i don't think it will. Queer as Folk may have been way more unrealistic but at least it was a fun watch. During the last episode, i stepped out the room for 5 minutes and came back in and had to rewind to see what i missed- only to find that I didn't miss anything.
I just don't buy that Richie would be remotely interested in an airhead like Patrick. Even has a friend.
I dunno. He seems attracted to anything that doesn't remind him of his family...
It's like Patrick had a traumatic brain injury right before this season started. Just stop talking. And put a helmet on.
I can't believe I'm actually buying Augustin's redemption arc. And I am enjoying Fairy Bear.
Eddie comes off as very natural (although by this point is Augustin also so dumb that he doesn't realize nearly every answer Eddie gives to his stupid questions is a joke or sarcasm?) Agreed on Augustin--I never knew he could be kinda likeable... I guess all it took was passing out on the street from K.
I dunno--I think Patrick actually has *mildly* been more self aware the past few episodes compared to the start of this season and last year.
I don't understand why Patrick felt it necessary to tell Richie about hooking up with the boss that night. I literally said, "wow" to my television at the stupidity.
You're right, it was G, in a little vile as is typical (and particularly bad to mix with booze, of course.) I'm sorta out of that scene so I always wonder what drugs people are still doing (I hated G and K, just if anyone wonders :P )
"I don't understand why Patrick felt it necessary to tell Richie about hooking up with the boss that night. I literally said, "wow" to my television at the stupidity."
Yeah that was definitely a "smack Patrick" moment. He was doing relatively well (for him,) at not quite pushing things all episode--and then he seemed to think he had to admit to *everything* (and, I guess he felt, stupidly, it would make itmore clear how confused he was that night.) Idiotic.

A strange episode -- I too was getting annoyed by Patrick's pursuit of Richie, and was wondering exactly how long it was going to take for Richie to finally just wash his hands of him once and for all after that confession, and yet somehow they managed to carry it off. Yeah, Patrick and Agustin and Dom do dumb things, just exactly like real people do.
I was interested in Eddie's little trajectory last night -- pretending that he's sick, then pretending he's not interested in sleeping with Agustin, even making an obligatory "this isn't important it's just two guys messing around" statement. It seemed indicative somehow of the way these men are continually hiding their motives from each other and even themselves (Kevin being unable to leave Jon for Patrick, Dom and Lynn not having laid out the details of their open relationship and so on). Last night Patrick and Agustin got honest, one about the real reason for the breakup and the other about his real attraction to someone. We'll see where it goes, I'm sure.

"is Augustin also so dumb that he doesn't realize nearly every answer Eddie gives to his stupid questions is a joke or sarcasm?"
I took it less of an indication of Agustin's dumbness than of Agustin's sincerity regarding Eddie, and frankly, considering the real gravity with which Eddie delivered that story about how he came by his HIV status, I can't blame Agustin for believing him. Is this going to be a commentary on possible romanticization of those with HIV, meaning that is it going to turn out that Agustin is turned on not by Eddie himself but by his HIV status, or is Agustin actually making real progress as a person?
I think I kind of understand Patrick's motivation in telling Richie about the night he first hooked up with Kevin. Even if that motivation may be subconscious. It was almost his way of explaining why he didn't fight Richie when Richie broke up with him on his stoop. And, hell, if things do start up again with Richie, he doesn't want this revelation to come out later and end up ruining things all over again. It might seem bone-headed now, but I can see where he might have been coming from.
All that said, this was my least favorite episode of the season. It felt a bit, well, episodic, but I suppose that's somewhat indicative of the tension and awkwardness that remains between Patrick and Richie.
Random observation here. Is it just me or, when Patrick and Richie were walking through his old neighborhood, did it look like Richie had just learned how to walk for the first time?
The Eddie/Augustin story definitely rates as most intelligently written subplot of the series so far. (Possibly the only one.)
And the actor who plays Eddie is doing spectacular work, especially given the contradictions of the role as written. Is he the first bear on TV?
'Is it just me or, when Patrick and Richie were walking through his old neighborhood, did it look like Richie had just learned how to walk for the first time?'
THANK YOU! I was like, 'Did someone stay in the sling a little too long last night??' He was positively 3P0-ian in his gait.
Patrick jumped the shark in this episode in terms of his idiocy. It would have been far more believable for him to start a fight or sulk rather than that cringeworthy speech. He's pretty desperate. Looks like Augustin has been redeemed and Patrick is now the annoying one. Eddie and Augustin have the most grounded storyline. Richie is street smart he would have flown the f@#k away from Patrick eons ago. Especially when he has such a cute boyfriend (isn't he the boy from Sons of the Prophet on Broadway?).
And Dom has that scintillating chicken kickstarter storyline, so theres that. The fag hag is keeping it real too, so Im happy for her.
