Well that was interesting. I always thought it sounded like Gaga was trying to emulate Christina at the end of the song with the growls.

I thought gaga was now trying to show her singing talent with a lot less spectacle (less makeup and effects, etc.) which is a wise idea. However, I didn't think much of her singing.

Is it just me or did it kind of appear like Gaga was some back up singer warming up the crowd waiting for Christina to emerge from her shell. It kinda made me sad for Gaga. Her antics look so foolish next to a vocalist who just sings.
Plus Gaga was dressed like Jackie Rogers Jr. #stylistfail

Posted: 12/18/13 at 8:43pmI agree that Christina sings too much from her throat. That's always been her downfall. When she sings naturally from her diaphragm, her voice is stunning.

When I first heard DWYW I actually thought there was something about LG's voice that was reminiscent of Xtina's voice. Hearing them sing this tune together, however, I think LG gets lost in the stew. CA is way in the back of her throat, LG is breathy, but neither seems to be taking the Yang to the other's Yin so the result, IMHO, is that it doesn't sound like either of them is driving the tune. The champagne sip at the end made me sad. Like a dinner theater review in Boca Raton.
Totally off-topic, but what's the board consensus on the hip surgery? Did it take place? Did it not. The way she described it on the Howard Stern Show made it sound super invasive. I have seen no sign of scar tissue, but incisions could be in the pubic area/inner thigh?

CAX, the word on the street and in the press is that Gaga is simply a liar on many fronts. Whether Gaga believes her lying is acting, or art or performance art-only she knows. However, she is a liar. She tends to spin tales to support whatever angle she is hawking. Being bullied, teased, rejected, a drug abuser, and having hip surgery, etc-all fabrications. There are no visible scars and no one can corroborate the surgery-no doctors, hospitals, etc. She recovered far too quickly.
In todays day and age its not hard to be disproven when you lie.

I'm sure she's very sorry that she pissed in your corn flakes.

Apparently, Terry Richardson is releasing a documentary next year that will detail a year in her life, including footage of the surgery. Take that for what it's worth.

Posted: 12/19/13 at 8:39pmOr, broadway86, maybe she didn't Piss in bettyboy's cornflakes. Maybe Lady Gaga is just a tired act who is also known as a pathological liar in the industry. Does it ever get tiring trying to find ways to defend an artist against every single critique? It's OK for you to accept that your Queen Gaga is not perfect.... I certainly have with my favorites (Gene, Liza, Judy, etc.)

I don't know how tired broadway86 is, but maybe he's as tired as the users who constantly gripe about her whenever a thread appears. I am a huge fan, and I thought the performance was entertaining but something felt awkward about it. broadway86 is allowed to defend I just as much as people are allowed to criticize. If I'm a fan of someone, I'll put in my opinion if I feel I know more about that person that those that aren't fans. So lay of broadway86. I'm not trying to get peopled at me, I'm just saying.
Also, in regards to the hip surgery, if she was a pathological liar in the industry, wouldn't people in the industry who hate her being rushing to out her as a liar? Also, while the tour may not have had fantastic sales, I had tickets for a show that was cancelled and let me tell you, it was so hard to get them and they sold out so fast. Why would she lie and lose all that money from the shows she cancelled and the merchandise she made, and the set etc.

Posted: 12/20/13 at 12:01amI love watching this and hearing this. I think Gaga sings much better than Christina, Christina is just too low for me. But you know, everyone has an opinion, and that is mine. The performance could have been more shocking or more "edgy-lesbian-ish", I think they focused on their voices more than on the show itself.

And maybe, just maybe, you are pulling your information out of thin air. Rephrasing your predictably condescending question: Do I ever get tired of discussing her? Clearly not, and I will never apologize for it. You keep mistaking me for someone who loves every single thing she does. I have no problem with people criticizing her, her haters are loud and there's no helping it. But notice how I simply took issue with the fact that bettyboy72 is utterly convinced, beyond shadow of a doubt, that Gaga is a liar about dozens of things. Which is ridiculous, and phantomcrazy has been good enough to provide just a few of the main reasons why it is ridiculous.
And speaking of which, thank you phantom for your post. More spot-on than you even realize.
