Is anyone already confused by tonight's episode?

Loved this episode, even though I'm not a fan of the Juliet/Sawyer pairing. Loved the reappearance of the four-toed statue (sort-of) and Horace! I guess they'll be staying in this time period for quite a bit then. Intriguing though!
I actually had to go back to lostpedia to remind myself who Horace was. Interesting that he was married to someone else - an Olivia - before (after?) Amy. Wonder if their baby will be relevant beyond showing us that whatever it is that made women unable to give birth is a newish thing.
The statue was SUCH a tease! All we get is a four toed state three years ago and now this??? Come on!!!
The Sawyer/Juliet thing was natural - I just hope the show doesn't become all about the rectangle with Kate and Jack now. I know it keeps some people interested, but I'm so much more interested in the mysteries than the romances!
Farraday has gone off the deep end now - what do we make of that?
What were the "hostiles" doing with Amy in the first place?
Did the rest of the group give their real names? Interesting that Sawyer stuck with Lafleur...
Loved this episode. Reminds me of the flashbacks in the first season, only now they're living in the flashback!
Gee...and to think that from the title of the episode I thought it would either be more about the Orchid station or focus on Danielle and the French group......

i loved this episode! and i actually love the pairing of sawyer and juliet... and what a cliffhanger! damn this rerun next week! i want to see a reunion!
the tease of the statue was a HUGE tease... argh...
and yeah... so horace was married to another woman, right? the one that found ben's father and mother when she gave birth, right? hmmmm
richard alpert is such an intriguing character... i wanna know what his deal is
and nice to see charlotte as a little girl... sad that her body disappeared

btw... does anyone here watch Friday Night Lights (the tv series)... slightly off topic... but the guy in the opening sequence in tonight's episode (jerry the security guy dancing with the girl) plays Herc on Friday Night Lights! I recognized him immediately... i actually thought he was a real actor who was disabled... oops!
I've been wondering if Amy's baby isn't Horace's. What if she's having an affair with a hostile. That would explain the bag over her head...
I really think that we've seen that necklace before that Amy pulled off of Paul. Does anyone remember?

so the big theory going around is that the baby is Jack... that Amy had an affair with the a hostile and that it was Christian... interesting....
Eh, I don't know. Why would Christian (in whatever form) then take Jack off of the island and marry some other women?
Do we know how old Jack is supposed to be? If the baby was him he'd have to have been 30 when the plane crashed.
We DID see the ankh earlier in the episode -if you look at the statue they showed (and I have a screen capture but have no idea how to load a picture in to a message here...) the statue is HOLDING the ankhs. It's an ancient Egyptian symbol (remember all the hieroglyphs)so there's got to be some connection there.
I did find it interesting that they never named the baby - that definitely makes me think the baby is of some relevance.
Yeah, all of these Egyptian connections are wild. A few people have mentioned that Richard Alpert looks pretty Egyptian (eyeliner?).
Jason, for now or for future reference, upload the picture on to tinypic.com, and then just cut/paste the direct link into the message. :)
Ugh why is there a rerun next week..I can't wait...for all you Mad Men fans the guy in the beginning that came into the station and yelled at the one guy was Jimmy, the one who Don had an affair with his wife
Good episode...will write more later
i dont think Horace & Amy's baby could be Jack - the year is 1974, that would make him only 30 when the Oceanic Plane crashes - but who else on Oceanic could that be????
I thought the huge statue was really cool. Especially after seeing that mysterious stone foot way earlier. I hope we learn more about that era of the island.
so does this mean that the plane flying to Fiji with Jack and all of them on it both time-traveled to 1974 and also crashed on the island in 2007?
Jack, Kate, and Hurley are definitely on the island in 1974. And from the looks of next week's episode so are Sun and Sayid. But it appears that the rest of the plane (Lapidus, John, Ben) all crashed on the island in real time.
is that right or am i confusing myself?
Wait, wasn't it 1974 when Sawyer and his crew first hooked up with the Dharma Initiative? Which would make it 1977 on the island now. (This also adds three years to Amy's baby's age then what people were just saying.)
I am officially a fan of Sawyer/Juliet. C'mon, they've clearly been together a good while now, are clearly supportive of each other and mesh well together. At the end of the day, Sawyer and Kate knew each other for three months. I hate knowing that Kate and Jack's arrivals are going to through a wrench into the good thing Sawyer and Juliet have going.

Anyone else think Juliet looked like she had a bump when sawyer showed up with the flower? I think she may be pregnant.

I thought they mentioned Lapidus was there, but had run off with a woman, whom everyone assumed was probably Sun. No?

Hope this works. Look in the statue's hands...If you can zoom in on the picture, you can tell they're definitely the top of ankhs.

so i was watching tvguide.com's weekly video blog about LOST... and the guy confirmed that one of the four will DEFINITELY be Amy's baby: Jacob, Ethan, Desmond or Daniel... my guess is Desmond
as for the statue... some guy believes it to be the Egyptian god of Fertility i believe... not Anubis like everyone says... he showed a picture of the statue and looks identical to the back of the one in the episode... INTERESTING...
Yeah, it's the Egyptian god of fertility. The theory is that the statue was torn down causing the problems with the babies being born. I think going along with that Richard Alpert=RA, the sun god, brought back to the island by the hatch exploding (we didn't see him until season 3).
It kind of makes sense...

NEW EPISODE TONIGHT! damn repeat last week!
Another great episode, though I'll need to watch it again because I was and still am a wreck over the news about Natasha Richardson.
This episode really set up a lot of potentially great stories for the remainder of the season, and I'm really looking forward to find out more about Christian and young Ben's relationship with the others.

oh man... that was a great confrontation between Jack and Sawyer... clearly Sawyer has grown as a leader and Jack hates not having control of the situation
i am really interested in knowing what Sun and Lapidus are going to do now!
