After all of the build up of Walt being "special", I'd be pissed if they never resolved that story. I really hope that he comes back.
I assumed that Lapidus went with Sun, since we haven't seen her yet, but it could just be someone else from the plane. A new person with an agenda who found out that Lapidus had been on the island before.
Also, I really really love Ben. I mean, I know that he's a liar and a murderer, but I think that he's just such an interesting character.

He's a fantastic character - really, he and Gaius Baltar on Battlestar are probably the two most complex, interesting characters on TV in a LONG time. I don't think that's in short part due to how good the actors are playing each of them!
Their avoidance of Sun is very strange. I know why Locke didn't get to go see Sun (and honestly, if that was like a commitment thing from the actress, that she couldn't be there for that episode, their writing around that was BRILLIANT), but why would she and Sayid NOT disappear with Jack, Kate and Hurley? OH WAIT! I just thought of something -- Jack, Kate, Hurley...and Sawyer -- that was the list the Others had way back in Season Two - who Michael were supposed to bring to the camp! Maybe there's a connection there...think about it - they're the only ones who are in that time period from the plane but, so far as we've seen NOT in the group (Jin was in the van with the Dharma shirt, so something DIFFERENT must have happened to him than to Sawyer...)

But the preview made it CLEAR that Kate and Sawyer would be reunited in the next episode.

That's my point...those four are in the past together and ONLY those four since Sawyer will meet back up with them. Jin is with Dharma so separate.

ok im not following. How is it separate if the three of them were with Jin and we know AT LEAST KATE will be with Sawyer. I don't see a ton of accidental time travel happening anymore what with Locke fixing the wheel.

I don't understand why Sawyer and Jin are necessarily in different "timezones," as it were. I get the impression from Jin's behavior and the length of his hair that he's been with Dharma for a while. Same with Daniel, from the season premiere when he's helping to make the Dharma video. I'm guessing that they've all kind've hooked up with Dharma and been working with them for a while, because that's the time period the island ended on when Locke left.

What I mean is that, and this is partially based on the preview for next week, Sawyer will meet back up with the three. Jin doesn't seem like he's going to be part of that group - that he's in with the Dharma initiative. Maybe Jin is undercover or something (remember, Faraday is at Dharma also) and the four: Sawyer, Kate, Jack and Hurley do something that resonates into the future causing them to be on that list.

OHHHH. I get what you're saying. I thought you were saying that Sawyer was in, like...a whole different time or whatever.
I want a Jin/Sun reunion RIGHT THIS MINUTE.

In the midst of the chaos, I've lost track of Rose and Bernard. Where and when are they?

There when should be the same as everyone else who was left behind, their where we would have no clue of as i don't think we've seen them since the premiere.

In the next episode, apparently titled "LaFleur" will introduce a couple new (possible short term) recurring characters named Amy (played by reiko aylesworth) and Phil (played by Patrick Fischler) Reiko's IMDB page lists 3 episodes and Patrick's lists 4 (I'm guessing passengers on 316, but possibly Dharma people from whatever time period Jin was in).
Also, a lot of upcoming episodes have really great names (He's Our You; Whatever Happened, Happened; The Variable)

Those are great names -- I'm wondering if The Variable might be a companion piece to the great The Constant episode last year...

that's what I was thinking. Maybe some sort of Counterpoint episode.

I think Ben "killed" Locke because Locke could not kill himself because when Michael tried to kill himself he was unable to do so because the island wouldn't let him so maybe Ben had to kill him? or maybe it's the cough medicine talking
"Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life. Define yourself"

I was wondering about that too. Michael believed he couldn't die until "the island" was ready for him to die and his work for the island was done. So I found it interesting that Locke could die.....although I guess maybe he didn't....

I doubt it. Clearly John's death is what really got everybody back to the island, so him killing himself wouldn't have changed anything. The Island's not done with him, but it can get him back dead or alive.

The only thing that makes me think the island prevented him from killing himself was Ben's timing. I know it's a tv show, but for him to walk in at the EXACT moment John was about to step off the desk? Bit of a coincidence...

I chalked that up to wanting to be dramatic, but you might be right.
My theory about why Ben killed Locke (again) is that when he listened to Locke talking, he realized just how much he knew, and probably felt that he wouldn't be able to manipulate Locke, seeing as Locke seemed to know exactly what needed to be done. Ben relies on others being his pawns because of the perception that he knows more than they do. It's part of his masterful manipulation. That, and he also saw a great way to get Sun back to the island, but couldn't have Locke telling Sun that Jin told him to tell her not to go.

Reruns are not fun. They have those every Wednesday at 8, we don't need one at 9 as well!
Also I'm pretty sure Sawyer & Co are in the same time period as Dharma Jin. I feel like I read that somewhere on EW.com.

Doc Jensen's article today (a very interesting one) points out we're midway through the season as of today. I guess that means it'll end with a killer cliff hanger tonight.
They must have spaced them out to get the last episodes of the season into May...

The rerun next week is lame, but it's in the middle of mid-terms for me so it might be beneficial in the long run...

That article was killer! I love that Doc Jensen thinks so deeply into LOST so I don't have to. :)
