Another twist to the story! The alleged perpetrator of the "hoax" (who was previously identified as a christian singer and either a cousin or close friend of Manti's (I'm going to call him Roni) is getting ready to spill. His uncle has said "It takes two to tango" and that Manti knows more than he's told so far. Roni's Dad (a minister) says they have hired a lawyer and are meeting to di$cu$$ how to re$pond to these charge$ and how and when they tell what they know. And Manti NOW says he doesn't know Roni and only met him once in November.
I am sure it will get even more interesting when Jesus tells Roni which exclusive to grant and how much to charge for it.

he already has a lawyer -- at least there was a lawyer that accompanied him to be interviewed friday night on ESPN (I think it was ESPN)

So I heard the voice mails referenced above. Sure didn't sound like a dude tome. AT ALL.
I've already heard speculation that the voice mails are phony- recorded recently by Team Te'o to try and make the whole thing seem plausible.

The thing is, people don't just TALK anymore in long distance relationships. They Skype or Facetime or Google Video or AIM Video Messenger or whatever. I could buy the whole fake out thing because people do some ferked up stuff on the interwebs, but having never had a face to face conversation when you are in a "relationship" and "in love" is beyond believable now. The Rosie O thing was a long time ago when webcams were not that common and this was just a person she was trying to help. I get the duping. This was someone he was supposedly in love with. Laptops come with webcams built in now or at the very least, can be bought for $20. I call BS.

Dr. Phil had a woman on yesterday that had like a 5 year relationship with this guy who she never talked to except on the computer. He told her he was a secret agent and that he was in jail in a Turkish prison. She sent him over $30,000. Needless to say the whole thing was a scam. Unbelievable.
