My gramma in Salt Lake City, Utah just had a stroke this morning and lost feeling in half of her body. She is turning 90 in June, swam three times a week, gardened/cooked/did yardwork all day, cooked for her church congregation of 300 people every now and then, and looks about 20 years younger than she is, and acts and talks so much younger.
We just got back from seeing her on Monday. Please pray for her. My mom is devestated, and all of this is truly heartbreaking.

Of course I will. I'm so sorry.
I'm sorry to hear that. Sending lots of good thoughts her way.
I'm so very sorry. Please know that she and all of you are in my prayers.
will do
I'm really sorry. I've been in the same boat. I will pray for her!
Strokes happen when you are 90..
I hope she's okay.

Thanx so much, guys; this is really touching.
I actually don't feel that sad. I mean, part of me says that she's 90 and has lived a long life, but the other half has a total faith in God, and that her firm beliefs -- she's a Christian -- and youthful attitude/nature will get her through this, you know? A while back, I was introduced to a local healer (just a regular guy who has the gift of healing people) who told us a story of how he instantly healed a man seconds away from death in southern California. The patient's body was turning black, and after this guy prayed with the family, they all drove to the hospital, and was told that the patient was no longer there; he had been cured instantly. The bible tells us that when two or more people are in agreement, mracles can happen; I have total faith in this.
Thanx for your responses; God Bless you all :)
FYI:
My grandmother was totally devoted to church, and spending her time helping others (She was an RN). Never smoked, drank or over ate. She was the kindest and sweetest person you could ever know.
What did God do to her? He gave her the worst type of brain cancer ever thought of. She died a horrible death, and it still pisses me off that she did EVERYTHING right in her life, and THIS is the way God takes her? We won't even talk about my other Grandmother who was the same way, but on top of everything, took care of a HUGE family, always had food ready, supported a husband who couldn't work, and she ended up with dementia.
That tought me that crap happens.

Crap happens; hell, crap happened in biblical times; but that doesn't mean God doesn't exist. And we don't know why people get sick, but are taught that God loves us and that we should have faith; that some things happen for a reason.
Did I EVER say the God didn't exsist?

No ... I didn't mean to make it seem as if I miscontrued your response; if I did, sorry.
OK, we aren't turning a thread about my gramma having a stroke into a debate :)
I'm just saying..........
You say too much, Diva.
My mother had a stoke last year at age 45, which is very rare (except for coke addicts, supposedly ) she's yet to fully recover and her eyesight is very messed up now, but she's functioning and calls it her "Stroke of Luck" my thoughts go out to your grandmother and your family, it was very hard for my family to deal with that and I hope yours gets through it.
My prayers are with your grandmother. And I really don't know what to say about the person telling you God gave her a stroke? Just focus on your grandmother getting well.
I believe Diva was being facetious in his post, TAFKASP.

Thank you so much for your thoughts.
"facetious"
No, just telling it like it is.
Losing a grandparent is a horrible thing. This has just been what I've been through.
And SM, please don't speak for me anymore.
I was referring to your comments about God smiting both your grannies.
She will be in my prayers.
TheatreDiva90016: If this helps any, I believe that God made it up to your grandmother by rewarding her greatly in Heaven. His rewards will far outweigh any suffering we have to endure on earth.
You know, Becky2, people said something similar to me after my mother died. "God took her with him to be his angel." "She's in a better place now." It didn't sit well with me, as a 6-year-old. In fact, it was the first time I started to see God in a different light, so to speak.
