Get a room, you two!

This thread is hilarious!

"...because if this is the way y'all treat people on the site, I don't really want to be apart of it."

That's what makes bww worth visitin'!

Let's say you're being honest with us. Why is it so important to be on this board, seeing how it's been trouble and full of arguments already? This couldn't have been a pleasant experience for you, and only on the first day.

If I joined a new forum, and was met with the kind of reception you got, I'd leave immediately. But that's just me.

Fair enough, gentlemen.

Fair enough.

(I still think the twitter name is offensive - private joke or not - and not sure why it was included in the original post. But, I can ignore it. Along with this thread).

That's fair, too!

"I am almost 300 lbs because I like to eat, don't exercise and would rather spend my time watching Roseanne reruns than going outside for 5 minutes. "

Is this something to be proud of, now a-days?

Or, is this just the new 'normal' way of describing yourself to people you've never met?

"I am almost 300 lbs because I like to eat, don't exercise and would rather spend my time watching Roseanne reruns than going outside for 5 minutes. "

I find this sad, because I don't understand why someone would intentionally do that to themselves?

It almost makes me want to ask if her fiancee partakes in the eating binges and "Roseanne" marathon viewings.

I wanted to give this forum a chance since I read about it in The Q Guide To Broadway, I figured if someone went out of their way to mention it in a book, it had to be good. I tried to get past the negativity by explaining who I am, where my name came from. Posting your twitter is just something people do, I don't know, maybe y'all are apart of an older crowd (I'm 23) and it's nothing something you do, but people my age and younger do it all the time. It's no big deal to us. Yes, some find my twitter name funny, some don't, that's just apart of life. If it offends you, sorry but not sorry. It's my twitter name and not yours for a reason you know? (Not trying to sound b*tchy saying that, it's just how I feel about it) I explained it was a joke between friends because someone made a comment about it. Simple as that.

Also, my weight isn't something I'm proud of. I've been big my whole life. I had lost a lot of weight this past year but gained some of it back due to the fact that I'm expecting a baby December 10th! I had weighed close to 375 a year ago, dropped down to 260, was working to lose more, but got pregnant so I stopped pushing myself so hard physically. I still walk about a mile every day, do eat pretty healthy, but there's a reason I'm a big gal and not a size 0.

When someone posted the facebook of another person with my name, I mentioned my weight because that girl looks absolutely nothing like me then posted pictures to prove that person was not me.

In all seriousness, there is a 'Main Board' which is where discussions of Broadway shows, theatre and the kinds of topics you say you're interested in take place.

It's usually the first board that people find when they search for BWW. Good luck.

"If it offends you, sorry but not sorry. "

Wow, with statements like this one, I can tell she's a real charmer...

" I don't know, maybe y'all are apart of an older crowd (I'm 23) and it's nothing something you do, but people my age and younger do it all the time. It's no big deal to us."

And that's part of what's wrong with America today. Congratulations.

Sorry, but if it was a long time lurker, it would know that this is not the way introductions are done on this, or any other theatre board I know.

I used to think, "Why would someone do that?" Now I think, "Geeze they went through a lot of trouble to do all of this work. And for what?! "

Some people have far too much time on their hands.

Lizzy (Elizabeth) not Izzy (was that a typo on my part?)

Yes, I said 'sorry, but not sorry' because it's a name that I like and I'm not sorry for liking it. If it offends you, don't look at it. I don't find it offensive all, but maybe that's because I grew up on Lisa Lampanelli's comedy, so I have a more screwed up sense of humor than most people I know.

Anyway, I'm leaving this thread because I came here for a specific reason and I've finally gotten responses that may help me on my quest to learn more about broadway.

"I might just become a lurker now because if this is the way y'all treat people on the site, I don't really want to be apart of it."

I think you actually do want to be apart of it.

"Posting your twitter is just something people do, I don't know, maybe y'all are apart of an older crowd (I'm 23) and it's nothing something you do, but people my age and younger do it all the time."

One of the worst sentences yet. It's great.

This one is actually doing a really nice job at slowly unraveling, dropping subtle hints of its trollish ways (Gaga? Lisa Lampinelli? COME ON...)
#72

Newbie

I agree with Reg and Carlos that nothing really trollish has happened so far. We can't view everyone as "Troll" based on their join date and odd introduction. I've seen it be accurate to assume that, but I've also seen it happen to Headband and myself, and it's not entirely fair.
#73

Newbie

It's clear that this person only showed up to stir the pot. She hasn't asked one question about Broadway.

I think someone has spent time setting up fake accounts, just so they can troll web sites and claim they are not trolls because they have a twitter account.

Please.....

"She hasn't asked one question about Broadway."

But she has. In her original post, she goes into some detail about musicals she's enjoyed, as well as ones she hasn't, and asked for suggestions based on that info. Wrong board, but it seems to me a perfectly fine post.

Maybe I'm sympathetic because she's the only person apart from myself who I've heard admit to liking "The Pirate."
