Well, yes, that's been a thing for a long time - but the hostility here is palpable - doesn't seem like any of this is "sanctioned", for lack of a better term.

I dunno. Maybe it's just that I've seen crazier local news before, but after sitting through the WGN news when I lived in Chicago, this seems so tame and such a non-story.

just looks like awkward banter to me. It's just as ridiculous on our local stations. There are older tweets from before this scandal linked to that show they really are friends. I think the station is trying to drum up ratings.
