re: Official American Idol Thread- 6th season

I might start to watch once they get to the top 24 or even the top 10 (or is it 12 now?). They drag out the auditions for MONTHS.

A bunch of comments:
The Idol biggest fan was SOOOO fake. Idol and I are BFF gave it away and the way she reacted, so fake.
Also WTF is up with them using broadway as an insult people on broadway have better voices than almost everyone that has ever been on that show.
Lastly Paula used to be funny with her comments like "I LOVE your shoes" now she just sits there wasted and doesn't say anything

I really think a lot of the Paula eye rolling/antics had to do with sharing the limelight with Jewel. She's used to being the only female. For the most part when they have guest judges, they're always male.
I hung out with Cheyenne Jackson in his dressing room waayyyyyy before he tickled D2.

Yeah, Paula had some trouble keeping both eyes focused...

I thought that little 16 yo gay boy was adorable--he made me cry--i know he wasn't much of a singer, but if he gets through, I'll vote for him, bless his heart.

And that poor Lion girl--wow....

I was in the floor with the "Kiss" girl--I can't believe they let her go on like that...but I guess it was like a train wreck.

The reason I feel its staged, is when they made the people sing the Prince song in montage form, like all herrondous people and some of the good singers.

Yep, whatever's going to get people talking the next day is what they want to feature!

I still think it went on a little too long-they could have edited it.

re: Official American Idol Thread- 6th season

I watched bits and pieces. I'll weigh in more when they get to the top 24 (that's when the real fun starts!).

The Kiss girl with the necktie. Oh my - too funny. I like the kid with the pimples who was happy that his mom was proud of him. That was cute. And the crack baby was fab. And the Navy dude. Liked him.

Other than that though, I didn't see anyone else very good. The vocal teacher was somewhat awful, no offense to those that liked him. Perhaps it was a poor song choice and overconfidence, but I didn't buy it. Too forced. There's probably a good voice under all that, but sorry kids. Next!

The Dancing Queen kid is going to tear his throat up with that forced gravelly 90s-grunge thing! He was so serious too. I sort of felt bad for him.

Paula really severely needs some help. She's looked cracked out for months, since like halfway through last season. I even saw her on a talk show or something not too far back, I can't remember what it was, and she seemed so out of it. I wonder what it is she's on?

!

I watched this show for the first time in two years last night and its gotten so horribly fake and staged. Are you all not smart enough to realize that there were good vocalists in Minnisota but they chose to highlight the bad ones?! Its called editing people so they can say "Minnosota was the worst tryout state" ect... Also, how is saying some one can go Off-Broadway an insult? Randy Jackson maybe be very experienced in the music industry but he has no clue who and what shows have been off-broadway with incredible casts by the way! TO name a few: avenue q, spelling bee, spring awakening, a chorus line, caroline or change(tonya pinkins), mystery of edwin drood (Donna murphy). All of those performers listed in those shows could sing RINGS around american idol constants.

End of rant.

At the end of last night's episode, I think Ryan Seacrest mentioned that only 17 from Minnesota made it to Hollywood. If that is a true statement, then most of the constestants probably were that bad.

I agree that it went on a little bit too long last night, but I was laughing out loud for a few of them. It was certainly entertaining (much better than Grease).
