re: Official Oscar Thread

What do you mean no surprises?

SUPER SIZE ME losing?
THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES winning best song?
MILLION DOLLAR BABY winning best picture?

I think they were surprises...the predictions wre for THE AVIATOR and SIDEWAYS.

re: Official Oscar Thread

That's one of the items on my "movies to see" list, Eponine. Julie Taymor rocks my socks.

"She looks pregnant "
Nope. To me it looks like too much buttah.

re: Official Oscar Thread

I don't think so...In my mind..the only question was Clint or Martin....otherwise it went exactly as I figured/feared.

re: Official Oscar Thread

Jeff, the way she was holding her hands and the way the dress was hanging made it look like she was pregnant, yes.

And do you read everything I write so you can write something nasty after it? I don't do that to you and it's getting VERY old.

Don't you hate it Matt_G when little cancers get on these threads with no intentions other then spreading their own pathetic little gloominess around? Honestly.

re: Official Oscar Thread

The thing that kinda irks me, is that with the Oscars (as well as most award shows) one or two movies get pretty much every award even though they didn't deserve them. For example, why were basically all the nominess and especially the winner nominated for BEST COSTUME DESIGN or whatever it is called all did costumes for movies set in the past? I mean, all they had to do was look at old books, magazines, and movies and see what they needed to design, but a movies like Phantom of the Opera where the designer actually had to use their imagination weren't even nominated. I mean, Troy actually had to dig up some major information about what kind of armor was used back then.

re: Official Oscar Thread

I just don't get it. I asked Jeff what I did to him and he said he just "doesn't like me"

That's fine, not everyone has to. But to post for the sole reason of being mean to one person is just pointless.

re: Official Oscar Thread

Barbra looked GREAT and was just adorable beyond words... "I'm so happy to give this to you again, Clint" re: Official Oscar Thread Gotta love her! And the way she called Dustin Hoffman honey...too cute.

I'm THRILLED M$B won. It deserved it, and so did Eastwood as Best Director.

re: Official Oscar Thread

The same gal who designed for Neverland designed POTO. She should have won.

Why did my post about Titus get deleted?

re: Official Oscar Thread

Matt you're right about her pose being that of a pregnant woman, however, I chaulked it up to poundage due to her age.

re: Official Oscar Thread

andrew looked so sad. I hate the oscars. and that song that wong "La Crapa in a Boxo"... even the frikin' polar express song was better than that sh*t.

re: Official Oscar Thread

Munk, Million Dollar Baby winning Best Picture wasn't a surprise. Most voters interviewed about their selections - including Oprah - said they were voting for it.

I liked the film fine, but I wish that Martin Scorsese had won Director.

re: Official Oscar Thread

Addy, I have no idea! I don't think the ratings will be all that great. What do you think?

Did you notice that after "Learn to be Lonely" the audience was LOUD with their applause more so than any other song (Well, maybe one other one)

re: Official Oscar Thread

I'm thinking people who tuned in will be dissapointed they did. Not that the winners weren't deserving, but because of the predictability. I don't think there were any upsets.

re: Official Oscar Thread

Evelyn, I'd like to see Scorcese win for a really GREAT movie. This one wasn't one of his best, in my opinion.

Antonio should have been the Phantom.

There, I said it...

re: Official Oscar Thread

Barbra is too self-centered. The whole bit about "I forgot my glasses" and then she doesn't announce the name, but just says "I'm so happy...blah blah blah".
