I can't believe I forgot this one!
miss pennywise I. LOVE. THAT. PICTURE!!! You should bring her to every vacation and get a shot like that at every landmark!
Those little people from the Musée Mechanique creep me out. I've always been terrified of those sorts of figures (along with mimes and clowns).
I'll have photos from my annual trip to Disney World and my once in a lifetime trip to the Galapagos Islands and Amazon River basin up at the beginning of August when I get back!

Aside from the Unity rally I posted pics of last week, we also did a few other things on our vacation.
Beautiful York, ME...
Even more beautiful Ogunquit, ME...
New Hampshire's White Mountain range...
The really scary car ride to the top of Mt Washington, elev. 6500'...
It was either that or take this train. I think we chose wisely...
The Lupine Festival in the little town of Sugar Hill, NH...
We took this Gondola up Cannon Mountain. The top you see is actually a rise we went over that was only half way up...
This is the view looking down from that halfway point to Echo Lake...
Artscallion, those are by far the loveliest, most sumptuous vacation photographs I have seen.
miss pennywise, may I post some from my trip to Quebec City and Montreal last summer? I haven't done much this summer!
artscallion, those photos are breath-taking! How would one get to those parts of Maine from NYC? I love the gondola!
misspennywise, YAY! You visited SF! That's my home, baby. Looks like you got the fog while the weekend jaystarr was there, he got the sunshine. That lovely city by the bay can be so tempermental with its weather. You enjoy yourself though?
artscallion, I love York Beach! It's so quiet and beautiful.

Paying tuition! The Outer Banks will wait for a few years!
Artscallion: That first pic, of Beautiful York, looks like a set for Carousel. In fact, I'm saving that so if I ever have to design that show, I am using that as inspiration.

BE2, my feeling is...as long as you tell the truth and don't say, "I was just here last week," go ahead! (Unless, of course, you ARE going somewhere later this summer. Then you have to wait! ) So nice of you to "ask permission," but this is the VACATION thread...the "rules" are relaxed!
I will add more photos as soon as my husband gives me his damn memory card! Yeesh.
Love your pictures, miss pennywise.
And great to see you enjoyed my lovely town of Ogunquit, artscallion! (It's not actually my town, but I've worked there three years in a row, so it's almost like a second home).
Last week I walked around Portsmouth, NH, which resulted in some photo taking:
Memorial Bridge (from Pierce Island):
Fountain and garden in Prescott Park:
Market Square:
And of course, a good portion of my summer vaction has been spent backstage, too. (:

Eug, in answer to your question about San Francisco...we had a wonderful time. San Francisco is one of my favorite cities in the world. I used to be there all the time (for work...and fun!), and my husband lived there for a few years, so we have lots of friends to visit with. The weather never matters to me in San Francisco because it's always a fabulous place to be!
Gotta love you, miss pennywise! I'll actually post a picture from earlier this summer... I really wish I knew how to post multiple pictures!
Anyway, here's a picture from a pool party I had in June.
I don't know, it makes me laugh!
Aw, all these are so much fun.
I've spent all the summer here in the town where I live, only got a chance to visit my parents in Miami this past weekend but that was too quick.
I'm going to NY this weekend (YAY), will be posting pictures of that trip when I get back :)
Perfectly Marvelous, do you know the Ogunquit Plahouse? I have some friends that ahve done productions there in the past and are currently in "High School Musical."
Neat!
And yes, I do. I'm on the wardrobe staff there. :)

Awesome! So you know Lindsay and Annaleigh?
I don't really know them, but I may've brushed elbows with them ... is that the phrase I'm looking for? (Not sure if it is...)
There's only a few people in the cast of HSM that I actually talk to (only because they were in the previous show, so I'm used to them). :)

Well Lindsay was in "Hairspray" as Amber last summer.
But that's so neat! I bet you're having a lot of fun.
Aye, yes, I remember seeing her in that! She was great.
And I am - it's stressful and crazy, but fun.

Here's one of my all-time favorite photos from San Francisco.
That's such a precious photo, miss pennywise!
Miss P - Thanks! Those mountains and beaches are just big hams in front of a camera. Your mountain/desert pics are also wonderful. I spent lots of time in Borrego Springs, Joshua Tree and places like that when I lived in San Diego. There is such incredibly varied beauty in this country.
BwayE2 - I love Quebec City! I spent my honeymoon there, as well as several vacations since. I would love to see your pics!
EugL - for Maine take 95 N from NYC all the way until you hit rte 1 in ME. York is on rte 1A, a little scenic offshoot of rte 1. then continue back to regular rte 1 to get to Ogunquit, which is close by. The gondola is actually in the Mt Cannon Ski area in the Franconia Notch State Park in New Hampshire. To get there from NYC, take 95N to 93N (near Boston.) Once you're in the state park follow the signs. It's on rte 18, off 93. The best thing about those places, Eug, is that the ride there is as beautiful as the destinations.
Great photos everyone. I love living vicariously through other peoples vacation pics.
Aww! Beautiful Mother and son!
