And you're asking who is "everyone" that I'm talking about? It's all of you, you seem to think the government should take care of everything that people can't afford and should be in charge of everything, like healthcare, what people can and can't eat, how many calories school lunches can have. When will it stop?

Here's the life outcome of 40 year olds who had pre-school programs. Take THAT, Abby.
Thanks, Algy. That was very informative.
Abby--you may not watch those shows, but the truth is they do a lot of good for a lot of kids. And adults too.
At any rate, the bottom line is that cutting funding to PBS will not do a damn bit of good--and you know that perfectly well.
The only reason you want to cut it because you think it's "liberal."
And you hate that more than anything else, don't you?

Gov't not letting you die because you can't afford a doctor? I'm down for that. You can buy & eat whatever you want. As for school lunches, don't exactly see why that's a problem. It's better than the school buying whatever they can for cheapest and schlocking it down your kids throats.
I mean it's kind of hypocritical that they have a health class teaching you all about nutrition and then sends you off to eat horribly unhealthy food for lunch.
So essentially everyone except you (and your family?) is living on handouts from the government? Got it. You're clearly a well-informed thinker.
Are we all done here?
I'm surprised she hasn't advocated privatizing all of the prisons because she doesn't want her money rehabilitating prisoners.
Now you're putting words in our mouths.
Here's what Jesus said about it. "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (NAS, Mark 12:28-31) Are you saying that you don't love youreslf very much? That you and your Party hate yourself so much that you don't love your neighbor, as Jesus commands his followers?
For the record, I am an athiest, but if you're going to say that you're a Christian, actually do what your Lord and Savior says. F*CKing bitch.

I don't believe in karma but I do believe in coincidence, both happy and unfortunate. I find it a happy coincidence that Romney got 47% of the vote.
SNAFU: I know - all those months of waiting to get treatment... It's dreadful isn't it!
I know there are some people who do raise money to go to the US for treatment - but it's usually for experimental cancer treatment that hasn't been cleared for use in this country. Or plastic surgery for that shiny tight LA look...
Pal Joey - no problem, always happy to provide some facts about our "communist" system and its actual cost!

Abby - you've already argued that there should be controls put on what food people buy with their food stamps (if you think they're allowed them at all) and you're complaining about being told what you can and can't eat?!
You've obviously had the good fortune to grow up in an affluent household with all the advantages that entails. But say you were the offspring of some perfectly legal immigrants to the states who happened not to speak English as their first language and so you grew up speaking that at home and not English. Would you be on a level playing field with the other kids when you started school? And how long would it take you to catch up? And would free preschool help you with that? Or programmes like Sesame Street or reading rainbow? How much would your opportunity to become a franchise owner be limited by that? And how much choice did the preschool-non-english-speaking you have had about where you lived and the opportunities you had? Is it so bad to try and level the playing field a little bit for these kids so that they have a chance to become the franchise owner of tomorrow that you want to be?
Sure when you're an adult you can chose how you live and what you spend your money on, but kids don't have that choice - their parents do that for them.
We had sex education in school - starting when I was 11 with a talk about how babies were made - and a (not very graphic) video of a woman giving birth, graduating through learning to put condoms on bananas and a *much* more graphic video of a woman giving birth and talks about STDs and where to get contraception. You know what? Not one of the girls in my school year (about 125 girls) got pregnant before the minimum school leaving age.
I'm not saying it's perfect - a few years down the link when my sister was at school they introduced a clinic 2 or 3 lunchbreaks a week where a nurse was in school and girls could go and see her for sexual health advice and to get prescribed contraception (incase they were too scared to go to their family doctor). A couple of the girls in her year got pregnant immediately after leaving - because they ran out of pills and didn't know where to go to get more. But they were the exception rather than the rule.
You didn't have to get involved. Your parents could opt you out, but it made a helluva difference.

If kids don't want to eat healthy they're not going to. It's that simple. If you don't realize that you're an idiot or have never worked with kids before. Maybe they'll have an okay lunch at school, but when they get home they're going to eat whatever they want. It's not going to keep some anyone from being obese. Who is the government to say what people can't eat what they want. Just like you can't buy a 32 oz drink in New York. Don't you think people who are old enough to buy 32 oz sodas are old enough to accept responsibilities if they get fat?
The government is regulating everything and it's getting kind of ridiculous.
And I never said you all rely on the government, that's putting words in my mouth. You just believe people who work for a living should be giving a large portion of their earnings to people who aren't/don't want to work. But whatever, that's your view, but it doesn't necessarily mean its right.

"If you don't realize that you're an idiot..."
Maybe if the Republicans can tone down this kind of rhetoric and listen to voices outside their own echo chamber they won't be shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, the next time they think wishing their terrible candidate to be president will make it so.
Abby: Why does everyone feel entitled to get everything for free if they can't afford it?
Reg: Who are these made-up people you're talking about? Who is "everyone"?
Abby: And you're asking who is "everyone" that I'm talking about? It's all of you . . .
Stupid and proud of it.
Abby you idiot. at least when kids are in school they are getting healthy meals. Noone can control what they do outside of school! My gad girl you really do have sheet for brains…. No wonder law enforcement is filled with such intellectuals! F^CK, no wonder you can't get a job except wrapping presents in Walmart! Get used to you parent's basement! It is going to be a long haul!
If people come here legally and learn english that's fine, I have no problem with that, but when they come here illegally, enroll their kids in government schools they don't pay a dime for and my tax dollars are paying for illegal kids to learn english, yeah, it upsets me.
If any American went to Mexico illegally and tried to live there, they would be kicked out/killed. They wouldn't pay for us to learn spanish, or speak spanish to help us like people do here. They come here because it's so easy to get welfare, free schooling, etc. It's insane.

Did you even look at the figures I gave about how much the UK's universal healthcare costs me? Or is paying 8% of your gross salary over the year for your healthcare and that of all the people who can't afford to pay it? Is that much more than the percentage of your take home pay that you have to pay for insurance?
And no, one healthy meal a day is not going to keep kids from being obese, but it might help. If all you get at home is junk food seeing something different at school might broaden your horizons and make you ask your parents for something different/change your choices when you are buying the food.
As I've said before, I hire recent college grads once or twice a year.
My interview with Abby would last approximately a minute and a half, if I was feeling generous.
This kind of ill-educated arrogance has an almost literal smell in an interview situation.
How long before Abby must rely on public assistance? I'm starting a BWW Pool.
Well you couldn't pay me enough to work with anyone like you people! I would rather not spend my time working with idiots.

Once she got to the "they come here" bit I finally knew she was just trolling.
I don't think I'll ever rely on public assistance, I could probably qualify now, but I choose not to because I don't absolutely have to.
Idiots? Huh Child? You would cream to work for me! Telling you that straight out! The thing is, I don't hire uneducated idiots.
And if you didn't have mommy and daddy to sponge off of?
"Well you couldn't pay me enough to work with anyone like you people! I would rather not spend my time working with idiots"
And as rather more than half of the US population is to the left of you, that might explain why you're taking seasonal work rather than a fulltime role...

So the school should just throw up their hands and say **** it? You're in an establishment to learn mentally & physically. What's good for your body and what's not. You want to eat whatever you want outside of school then fine, but when they are there the school should do it's best to provide nutrition because for some those are the few meals they get. You're an idiot if you think the school should just say "Well kids are gonna do whatever they want. Lets not try stopping that."
You just believe people who work for a living should be giving a large portion of their earnings to people who aren't/don't want to work. But whatever, that's your view, but it doesn't necessarily mean its right.
Oh honey, no. MOST of what you pay is going to people who ACTUALLY need it. Pennies of it are going to freeloaders because they are in the VAST minority.
And if I wasn't living at home I would still be fine, things might be a little bit tighter, but I wouldn't go on welfare.
