And really, public schools are for everybody. Old people and people who had no intention of having kids pay in to fund public schools and most do not have a problem with it because it is for the greater good. It's one of the reason people from all of the world come here with their families because they believe they are giving their kid a good chance to succeed.
'Illegal kids', so you think these kids have a choice. Actually if there was a truly Dickensian story of a kid who crossed the border to attend school for a better life, I'd have no problem.
Again, even your racist, classist, ethnocentric political party is trying to walk back using the term 'illegal'. It is a hostile phrase and at this point I wouldn't be surprised if you thought every brown person with a Hispanic accent you crossed you believed to be 'illegal'. How'd you feel about Sergio Romo, of your San Francisco Giants, wearing this?
You also assume the immigrant problem is strictly with Mexico. As somebody who worked in a local Congressional office. One out of hundreds of case studies had a Mexican facing deportation because of lack of papers. The rest of them were African and from South East Asia. I also have no problem with those people trying to have a better life for them and their families here if they are, and most of them are, law abiding citizens.

You know nothing about me, I'm taking seasonal work because I don't want to get a full time/long term job. I'm moving to southern california in the next few months and if i get a long term job, I can't exactly leave after 4 or 5 months.

So you are moving to SoCal. Enjoy being surrounded by brown people who are more than indignant toward people like you and have been fighting for their right to pathway for citizenship for years. I'll tell my friends who are DREAMers to look out.
I can only think Amsterdam or Havana could be other more mismatched places for you to go.

Success doesn't mean you're smart. You know who's also successful and has won awards? Justin Bieber, Lindsay Lohan, I can go on and on but I think you can get the picture. Are they smart? No.
In my area, it's mostly mexicans who come up from california. That's why I use them as an example. We don't get a lot of South East Asians/Africans, it's basically all Caucasians and mexicans in my town for the most part.
And do you have any idea how many of them are criminals? In high school we couldn't wear certain colors to school because they were mexican gang colors, and there have been countless shootings in my town related to gangs.

Let's take my coworker David. He got a great apartment in the middle of the Castro. Six months after living there, he found out that his roommates hadn't been paying rent. He was evicted and he and his housemates are being sued. It wasn't his fault. He couldn't afford another apartment, so he has to move home.
How would you deal if you found yourself in that situation?
Another example. The apartment building across from my apartment caught fire and due to water and smoke damage, the entire building has to be gutted. Those tenants were moved to other apartments, but now that the building is almost finished renovation, they can't afford the higher rent for the "renovated property" even though its no fault to them. What would you do? Do you have the savings it takes to sign a new lease and move into a new apartment? I doubt you do.
